Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia suffers from pacing issues throughout, but it still manages to hold its own in the tactical RPG genre with tight systems that have tons of customization options to make each playthrough your own.
NASCAR Heat 5 is a modest improvement over NASCAR Heat 4 in terms of performance. And unlike last year, I did not encounter any bugs. Beyond that, though, I honestly cannot tell the difference between the two games.
I wanted to give this game a higher score because the concept is genuinely interesting, but it feels like an unfinished project. You only get a chance to scratch the surface before the story is over.
I have to commend developer AY Games too. It almost feels like they’ve taken visual cues from Darkest Dungeon, mixed them with mechanics from Slay the Spire, all while giving it their own unique spin on things. The result is a pretty solid title.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated does what it sets out to do. It's a loyal remake of an unremarkable PS2-era title.
This is a must-play game for anyone who owns a PS4 and played the original.
If you missed out on the original Command & Conquer or just miss playing these old classics, I would completely recommend picking up the Remastered Collection.
Pity Pit is priced at $4.99. Even that I think is too high. This is generic trophy fodder garbage, and luckily the platinum can be reached in less than an hour.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour earns my respect with fluid combat and intricate level design. It’s a fantastic port and a timely reminder of the industry’s past. It showcases the foundations which have propped up the industry for decades, how far we’ve traveled since the post-80s action hero games, and which of the design principles remain useful today.
Valorant is a fun and addictive competitive game, a trait that seems to be shared with all of Riot’s games. With its roots in CS:GO and Overwatch, it greatly improves on the ideas of its predecessors. By merging a conservative ability system with well-tuned gunplay, it has found the right balance of being friendly to newcomers while having a high skill ceiling for competitive play.
Whether you're looking for a chill, non-violent ocean adventure or an educational product for kids, Beyond Blue does both surprisingly well. Just don't expect an action-packed experience.
Summer in Mara manages to instill joy. It connects you with likable characters and weaves a narrative into its gameplay loop in ways that many other similar titles do not. Ultimately, though, the simplicity of its mechanics too often turns the game into a chore.
If you have Xbox Game Pass, it's worth checking out. Otherwise, rogue-lite fans should find something that they'll enjoy here.
The surprisingly compelling storyline and interesting puzzles keep you powering through, even as the dialogue drags on at times. Plus, the pixel art style and retro-inspired music give the game real charm. Considering the budget price, it’s well worth checking out.
The scope and ambition of Main Assembly make it a worthwhile game to get involved in at the early access stage. It is fluid fun and the developers have committed to improvements in the coming months.
I found myself looking to reload Skyrim the more I played.
Golf with Your Friends is supposed to be a casual party game. However, glitchy and oftentimes annoying gameplay ruin the experience.
Maneater is the game I never knew I wanted.
Minecraft Dungeons is a good entry-level dungeon crawler. Hardcore gamers might find it too simple.
The Persistence doesn’t break a lot of new ground, but it is a tense sci-fi rogue-lite with some interesting ideas and solid throughout.
