8 / 10.0 - Tengami
Jan 22, 2015

I feel also that Tengami is a game that would be better played on a tablet, to give you a sense of actually turning the pages, of discovering what's inside this magical book. At certain times, if you go exploring, you can find the edge of the book.

4.4 / 10.0 - Funk of Titans
Jan 11, 2015

It's a fun, if shallow, platformer that's held back by poor design beyond that core hook, a sense of humour that's crass more often than it is funny, and plenty of bugs.

6.5 / 10.0 - Never Alone
Jan 6, 2015

Never Alone is a mediocre first entry in what I hope will branch into a kind of informative gaming genre. I certainly see a promising future if they can improve on what they have. For this game though, if you want to know more about the Iñupiat people and don't have anything else to play, the story of Nuna and her arctic fox isn't bad - just don't expect it to light your world on fire.

If you're a Metal Gear Solid fan looking for your next hit, or someone who loves soaking up everything a title has to offer, then absolutely. It's a wonderfully crafted experience that looks and sounds fantastic. There's been a lot of love given to this "demo" in ensuring it feels right at home next to the others in the franchise.

Forza Horizon 2 is awesome. And Forza Horizon 2: Storm Island just adds a bit more to the awesomeness.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is an enjoyable action-puzzler. It effortlessly presents combat and puzzle encounters to the player, without inundating or starving them of one or the other. Just make sure you bring some friends along for the ride.

8 / 10.0 - WWE 2K15
Dec 14, 2014

Overall, if you want to get the full experience you will need the season pass. That is your shortcut to unlocking everything, and any future DLC. Commentary is just a bad as ever, Michael Cole doesn't sound right in NXT. The new additions were ambitious, if poorly executed.

It's the perfect blend of Borderlands' humour and Telltale's penchant for great writing and narrative-driven gameplay, and I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of the season. I just hope that Fiona will come into her element soon, the way Rhys did right from the opening credits.

The Super Smash Bros franchise captures Nintendo's videogame history beautifully and its arrival in HD means that you can now enjoy it in finer detail.

These little extras and the impressive cast of characters (including excellent voice acting for each) makes LEGO Batman 3 worth recommending - for newcomers to the franchise and still those who enjoyed LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, or the previous Batman title. But there is a sense of franchise fatigue creeping in here, and it will be very interesting to see where Traveller's Tales venture to next. Go Aquaman Go!

That said, these are niggles that are more than made up for by a stellar battle system, a breadth of great content, and the Tales series’ trademark vibrant, anime-like art style. Tales of Hearts R won’t convert anyone, but fans of Japanese RPGs would do well to pick this up.

Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault is out now and I'm glad it is. The World War II RTS adds something new to the series with the meta-war going on. The persistence across campaigns makes you feel like you're really participating in an active war. How well you hold up against the Nazi forces proves you as an adept officer of war. The voice acting and in-game chatter adds greatly to that experience. It's only a shame that the PC is left with so few graphical options. Ardennes Assault makes up the difference with excellent campaign structure and the interesting quirk of the meta-war.

10 / 10.0 - Grand Theft Auto V
Nov 26, 2014

This sharper Grand Theft Auto V doesn't carry any additional moniker – perhaps signifying the developer's confidence in believing that all versions of their game are the best. That simply isn't true here. These newer versions help realise Los Santos in a way that wasn't possible before, and reaffirms Rockstar's skill in producing authentic worlds, with a character all their own.

Overall it's a welcome return to form for loyal PES fans. The presentation and usability has been improved and the core gameplay dynamics have been finetuned. In a lot of ways it offers a more balanced and more intelligent game of football than its rival, but PES 2015 still doesn't have that depth and accessibility to lure FIFA players away just yet. Next year however, we could see a serious head-to-head for best football game

8.8 / 10.0 - Far Cry 4
Nov 23, 2014

Ubisoft have shown over the last ten years, with Assassin's Creed and the Far Cry franchise, that if they come up with a good idea they don't mind running with it. Far Cry 4 sticks very closely to the successful formula set out by Far Cry 3. So, if you loved Far Cry 3 you'll love Far Cry 4. However, if you found Far Cry 3 got repetitive, you might get the same feeling with this version.

9 / 10.0 - Bayonetta 2

MXGP has a solid, interesting control scheme that is rewarding when you figure out its quirks. The lack of meaningful content, however, in addition to its graphical presentation, severely limits any impetus to continue playing it.
