Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong is a narrative, investigative RPG centered around three vampires in Boston. While the writing and quests are enjoyable, the visuals leave much to be desired. Swansong loses a lot of its charm with its jarring graphics.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is still a great game, but the asking price makes it a bit of a tough sell — at least on consoles.
Lords of the Fallen is a little bland, but it's a perfectly good distraction with a bit more bite than most modern action/RPGs.
Assassin's Creed Rogue can be just as enthralling as its predecessors, but it sometimes feels dated and inconsequential.
Tearaway Unfolded has an inspired art style and memorable music, but both the gameplay and the story are rather undemanding.
Black Ops 3 makes up for a terrible single-player campaign with great multiplayer.

No Man's Sky is a gorgeous game that gives players a satisfying sense of exploration, but the experience can be incredibly repetitive.
The Last Guardian is a game about friendship that will test your patience with a wonky camera and controls.
Detroit: Become Human takes on complex themes about humanity and technology and is visually stunning, but it's too heavy-handed in its storytelling and has lackluster acting.
Marvel's Avengers: War for Wakanda adds an interesting playable character, but the game's structure is as repetitive and unfocused as ever.
Buy Man of Medan if you liked Until Dawn and want to see how The Dark Pictures Anthology might shape up. Avoid this game if you can't abide performance issues or slow gameplay.
Sea of Solitude offers up a lot to love, with its rich aesthetics and well-intentioned design, but it fails to make a lasting impression with its gameplay or story.
Crackdown 3 is worth playing for its outrageous action and addictive orb collecting, even though it doesn't do anything new.
Bioware's latest sci-fi epic fails to stick the landing in an already crowded loot shooter genre.
Sony's long-awaited Days Gone looks gorgeous, but the gameplay is dull and frustrating.
New Pokémon Snap is a fun experience for diehard fans of the franchise, even though it can often feel monotonous.
