MKAU Gaming's Reviews

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is a wonderful remaster of the original Wii game. Challenging yet fun levels, wonderful-looking levels and an original but slightly tweaked soundtrack all aid in a great throwback feel that all players will love.

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is a fantastic little title if you want to sit down on the couch and just immerse yourself into a great little side scroller. I’ve been getting more and more into my handheld gaming and this was a great little title that kept me amused for a good amount of time over the holiday season.

8 / 10.0 - Go Home Annie
Dec 22, 2024

Go Home Annie: An SCP Game is a perfect title if you want something to sink some time into over a weekend, you can quite easily play from start to finish and not feel like it’s dragging on. If you are like me, however, you will be wanting more from the storyline.

Flint: Treasure of Oblivion as I said is only 5 chapters so it is short, but was actually quite a decent albeit campy dive into the swashbuckling journey of Captain Flint.

Priest Simulator: Vampire Show is unique because it doesn’t make sense. Throughout the story, I constantly questioned what was going on, what I was doing, and what I had gotten myself into, which made it fun.

Hironobu Sakaguchi has delivered another worthy RPG to his portfolio. Its nostalgic RPG systems are interesting with, the new entertaining twists, to the turn-based genre. Though the story did not fully endear itself to me, it is still a great adventure with magnificent environments and beautiful music. I will be playing Fantasian Neo Dimension for many more hours.

‘Completely Stretchy’ is a delightfully odd and quirky adventure that is good-silly-fun. I would love to say that I can highly recommend giving this a play, but in its current state, I am hesitant to do so. I am certain that with more love and some much-needed patches, you’ll have lots of fun getting into some sticky situations.

Super Spy Racoon is a game I appreciated and enjoyed albeit over a short amount of time due to the lack of many levels.

8 / 10.0 - Chernobylite
Dec 14, 2024

Chernobylite might feel like a small game, but it has much to offer. The story is intriguing with different outcomes and consequences depending on your choices. The replay value encourages you to play through the game more than once because even though a single playthrough already gives you enough, you will still want more for new and unique experiences each time.

5 / 10.0 - Softie
Dec 12, 2024

Though Softie is short, it brings simple gameplay, a creepy setting and storyline, and meaningful music. Kristina Springer has my attention, and I’m interested in seeing what other games will be added to the catalogue in the future.

9 / 10.0 - Slopecrashers

Slopecrashers is a beautiful, picturesque game made with love from a solo developer. Bringing you back to the SSX days, this game combines fun, quirky characters, epic courses, an upbeat soundtrack and various game modes to give you something fresh and unique to jam with your pals.

Fitness Boxing 3: My Personal Trainer is a great at-home exercise alternative. While it’s not necessarily a long-term sustainable solution, it’s an entertaining, sweat-inducing way to mix up your routine.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the Indy game we’ve always wanted. The game’s story, exploration, and puzzles have all been thought about carefully, giving us the perfect Indiana Jones experience while keeping the action we all know from the films.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the truest simulation of aeronautical use I have ever experienced. Putting aside the long load times, graphical problems, and control difficulty, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a must-buy for anyone interested in avionics.

8 / 10.0 - VED
Nov 27, 2024

VED is perfect for players who love narrative-driven games or want something that feels like an interactive graphic novel. The combat and world mechanics are there to support the story, not overshadow it, so if you’re more into storytelling than stats, this one’s for you.

5 / 10.0 - Liberté
Nov 19, 2024

Naturally, when I stumbled upon ‘Liberté’, developed by Superstatic and published by Anshar Publishing, I was intrigued. A deck-building roguelike set during the French Revolution with a supernatural twist sounded right up my alley. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed pretty quickly, even though there are some solid ideas here.

Totally Spies! – Cyber Mission provides a great interactive experience for fans of the franchise, allowing them to feel more strongly connected as it ties in with season seven of the cartoon. Though the graphics are different, I believe they are more beneficial to the gameplay presentation as opposed to being one-on-one with the cartoon.

5 / 10.0 - The Beast Inside
Nov 16, 2024

The Beast Inside is great with interesting puzzles and a great storyline but the graphics let this version of the title down. I would love to see some touch-screen controls implemented and maybe fine-tune the controls more.
