The soundtrack is amazing, as is now Sega tradition, a mix of different sounds and genres that fortunately you can enjoy at your leisure in jukebox mode. Our opinions on the sound effects are mixed. What we weren't convinced by, above all, was the roar of the engines, which was far too monotonous to be anything other than annoying after a while.

After spending several hours with the Children of Prayer, we've come to the conclusion that the Japanese developer hasn't figured out what exactly a roguelite needs to perform as well as its direct competitor.

While the hygge philosophy of the video game is preserved and well-represented, the adventure progresses at a leisurely pace, failing to spark creativity. More could have been done in this direction, to give the colored bricks the joy we feel when stacking them in real life.

The tone is typically dramatic and light-hearted, typical of Indiana Jones, perfectly in keeping with the tone of The Ancient Circle. So there is the spectacle of the dunes, that of the water and that of not having to get angry because some sudden shot has broken the immersion, with the latter also favored by the excellent soundtrack , made up of evocative and sweet songs, which never take over the scene, but become an essential part of it.

Dear Me, I Was... is a classic example of a video game that's more than the sum of its parts. It's clearly aimed at a very specific niche, and for those who enjoy this story, despite its gameplay shortcomings, it might be worth experiencing.

Overall, however, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound effectively captures the spirit of the first games in the series, thanks in part to its clean, colorful, detailed 2D graphics and beautifully crafted, convincing animations.

There's room for improvement. It remains to be seen whether they'll continue to support and polish the game or whether they'll simply wash their hands of it as soon as it's released.

The improvements come at a cost in performance, and on a PC with an RTX 4070, you'll need to opt for 1440p and simultaneously enable DLSS if you want a generally (but not always) stable 60 frames per second without sacrificing the quality of the Ultra preset.
