Driven by a charming narrative across the twin worlds of Inferia and Celestia, the adventure shines thanks to a dynamic 2D real-time combat system that has aged remarkably well. Thanks to a clean visual overhaul at 60 fps and crucial QOL additions (such as destination markers, adjustable encounter rates, and speed options) the frustrating friction of classic retrogaming is effectively smoothed out, delivering a deeply entertaining and polished classic.

Mewgenics is an incredibly deep, bizarre, and addictive tactical RPG that manages to turn genetic experimentation, turn-based combat, and roguelite progression into an irresistible formula. Its enormous variety of builds, interactions, and unexpected situations makes every run feel different, while its unmistakable personality keeps the experience constantly entertaining. The PS5 version also translates the complex interface surprisingly well to a controller, making this one of those rare games capable of making hours disappear without you even noticing.
