The Xbox Series X/S version of Baldur's Gate 3 once again confirms the extreme skill of Larian Studios. The porting to Microsoft home consoles was a perfect success, also allowing Xbox players to get their hands on GOTY 2023. Obviously we hope that the save bug will be resolved as soon as possible. A problem which, as mentioned, does not directly depend on the work carried out by the Belgian team.

The Xbox version of Death Stranding Director's Cut represents an excellent opportunity for all Microsoft gamers who had never been able to get their hands on Kojima's latest creation. To this day, Death Stranding remains a superlative game with unique gameplay. Despite this, we are still faced with a game that divides the gaming community without half measures: if you didn't like it initially, you won't this time either. On the whole, however, the porting to Xbox Series X/S has been optimised properly, as it was already done on PS5.

As we expected Forza Motorsport is the definitive racing game. All thanks to a now consolidated gameplay, a crazy technical graphics section and an extreme level of customization that will allow each player to find the configuration suited to their driving style.

Unicorn Overlord is a game that pushes Vanillaware's potential to the max. We are faced with a real-time tactical RPG that conveys a sense of freedom and satisfaction never seen before. Although it is a game that is at its best at higher difficulties, even novices will be able to enjoy Unicorn Overlord in story mode, having plenty of time to familiarise themselves with the various mechanics on offer.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero represents the definitive title in the saga created by Akira Toriyama. The work done by Spike Chunsoft is truly remarkable, bringing to light a project designed to entertain all fans of the series, allowing them to simulate the epic clashes of the anime thanks to a three-dimensional structure and a vast roster. All this is topped off by sufficiently technical gameplay that allows for dynamic and unpredictable matches. Of course we are not at the levels of other fighting games (Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6 or Dragon Ball: FighterZ itself) but on the other hand the aim of Sparking! Zero is not to have gameplay aimed at the competitive side.

Sovereign Kaos is an expansion that adds a lot of content, making Mortal Kombat 1 a more complete game than at launch. The new campaign remains on a high level and the additional content greatly increases the replayability of the game.

Mortal Kombat 1 is exactly what we expected it to be. A title which, despite starting a new era, is based on the solid foundations that characterized Mk Nonetheless, Netherrealm Studios was able to renew the gameplay thanks to the addition of the Kameo Fighters, which are much more than simple assist-men. The invasion mode itself represents a good idea even if its implementation could have been better, especially with regards to repetitiveness. However, alongside all this we find a dizzying technical sector. If this isn't a flawless victory, we're close.

Ember Lab's work is structured to be suitable for anyone and will take about 10 hours to complete. The open world makes exploration very enjoyable, although there is no waypoint system so we will often have to look at the map from the menu. The mini-bosses and bosses that you will face are not too difficult nor too easy. Kena: Bridge of Spirits offers an exciting, understandable story and mechanics that can appeal to all ages of gamers, an achievement that deserves much praise and recognition.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is, like its prequel, a title that makes narrative and cinematic components its strong point. Artistically, we are faced with an inspired and immersive game, thanks to the way the protagonist's psychosis has been told. Unfortunately, at the gameplay level, no great strides have been made compared to the past, making these sections quite passive and not very interactive. A real shame considering Ninja Theory's experience and skill.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is definitely a worthy sequel to Max Caulfield's first adventure. Returning to impersonate the protagonist of the first chapter conveys a decidedly successful nostalgia effect, thanks to the many references present. The new narrative plot is very well told and allows you to immerse yourself in the emotions and feelings of an adult Max. Nevertheless, Deck Nine Games' product is only half successful. This is because the choices given to the player lead to limited changes, without effectively affecting the game's ending. In other words, the sense of freedom is only apparent and replayability suffers greatly. The same goes for the gameplay. The inclusion of alternative dimensions could have opened up a range of options that are almost always reduced to having to enter one reality to pick up an item to use in the other. In short, it seems that Deck Nine Games wanted to do the bare minimum by creating a game that is certainly enjoyable but gets lost in a glass of water. Who knows what would have happened if the American team had had the courage to dare more. Perhaps, there is an alternative world in which this happened.

Avowed is an RPG through and through, demonstrating Obsidian's extreme experience in making games of this genre. The title further expands some of the issues already explored in Pillars of Eternity. This is thanks to a deep and well-written story that we can influence directly by taking full advantage of the dialogue system with other NPCs. The gameplay itself is of good workmanship, even if there are elements that make some mechanics woody. In spite of everything, the character progression system is well balanced and the graphic technical compartment is really thick, except for some minor problems. Probably, the choice to create a more contained world divided into game areas proved successful.

Planet Coaster 2 is without a doubt the best theme park management game. The creation and customisation system is one of the most comprehensive in the genre, and it's no exaggeration to say that you'll spend hundreds of hours perusing the game editor. The addition of the water attractions greatly increases the game's offerings and introduces new features that complete the gaming experience. Unfortunately, the management system remains a secondary aspect of the production, despite the fact that it too has been revised in comparison to its predecessor.

WWE 2K25 improves on everything seen in the previous chapter. The gameplay is now smoother, adding mechanics that make fights more realistic and fun. The real strength of the game, however, is the monstrous amount of content and modes ensuring hundreds of hours of fun with friends and non-friends alike. The Island further enhances WWE's offerings, even if the microtransactions are just too overwhelming. In any case, WWE 2K25 achieves its goal: to entertain and amuse. A title that fans should definitely not miss.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl brings back one of the most iconic FPSs of the last 20 years. Despite the time that has passed, the guys at GSC Game World have created a worthy successor to the first chapter. The team decided not to distort the series, maintaining a high level of difficulty compared to other modern shooters. Each step into the Exclusion Zone could be our last: not only because of the creatures and enemies that will try to kill us, but also because of the atmospheric and radioactive anomalies that will put our survival skills to the test. On the side we find an excellent graphic and sound compartment even if there are several technical problems and bugs that we hope will be solved in a short time.

Star Overdrive is a title that manages to combine many different styles of gameplay in a single adventure. The hoverboard exploration system, combined with dynamic combat and a carefully crafted, colourful setting, make this title developed by Caracal Games a noteworthy game that is well worth trying out.

Melobot - A Last Song is not just a game but a true art form. The idea of performing gameplay actions through music is truly brilliant. Of course, we would have preferred more diversification between maps and the addition of more interesting mechanics as the game progresses. Nevertheless, we still appreciated the work done by Anomalie Studio. On an artistic level, we are at a decidedly high level, thanks to super-coloured and cartoony graphics that convey a sense of calm and relaxation to the player.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a game that well combines action/adventure elements with those typical of a Souls Like. True, the guys at A44 have ‘limited’ themselves to mixing these two genres by taking mechanics from one and the other, but the end result is more than good. To this we must add the excellent Reputation system that adds a greater level of challenge to the gameplay. The steampunk/fantasy setting itself is well characterised, in spite of some technical smears and a somewhat over-emphasised linearity.

Section 13 is a game in which the Roguelite component works well, encouraging the player to repeat the loop, trying to upgrade between runs. The gameplay itself, based on the dual stick system, is effective, with an intuitive and easy-to-use control system. The game is obviously designed to be at its best in co-op mode. Unfortunately, this mode is not yet available. With the implementation of co-op, Ocean Drive Studio's work can only get better.

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is a video game that gave us great emotions. This is thanks to a story that deals with a very mature theme that is not always told in video games: the loss of a person. The narrative is touching and the whole thing is accompanied by metroidvania-style gameplay that, although more simplified than other titles in the genre, still manages to entertain. All this is accompanied by an inspiration of African customs and traditions that is really well thought out, and a very attractive retail price (20 euros).

Despite still being in Early Access, Towerborne shows great potential. The mix of beat'em up, loot system and RPG component makes the Stoic title a very rewarding experience, especially when played in co-op. If you are willing to tolerate the typical problems of a game in development, Towerborne may already prove to be a worthy title.
