We really enjoyed revisiting (having already done so on PS5) Oddworld: Soulstorm on Switch. It is a porting that has been masterfully done on the Kyoto house's hybrid, and whether you are looking for an “excuse” to replay it and whether it will be your first time trying your hand at the game, you will probably be happy with how it runs on Nintendo Switch. Aside from some checkpoint and perspective issues (really tricky at some junctures in handheld mode), we think Soulstorm, besides being the pinnacle of Abe's adventures, is worth playing on Switch.

NBA 2K23 is not much different from last year's offering, but it manages to take a definite step forward; the problem of microtransactions remains; in fact, in the long run (and specifically with reference to the MY CAREER mode) the player will find himself almost forced to play a disproportionate amount or spend money to continue competing online, but on the other hand, there are a number of juicy modes - that we are sure you will appreciate - such as the Jordan Challenges or MyNBA Eras that allow you to relive the exploits and most iconic moments of the best player of all time and several incredible legends of American basketball.

Metal: Hellsinger is a title that really surprised us. Sure, it might not be one of the most innovative in the genre, but the rhythmic mechanic definitely brings a breath of fresh air to the FPS genre. Mastering the gameplay created by The Outsiders isn’t exactly easy (especially staying on beat), but once you’ve got the hang of it, the fun is guaranteed. Unfortunately, although the combat system is fully convincing, there isn’t much else outside of combat; the level progression is quite simple and linear, and it doesn’t reward players for exploration or secret hunting, which is another aspect we liked in DOOM games. We also believe that replayability might not be very high, except for those players obsessed with grinding for higher scores. That said, the price of just €39.99 — along with its launch on Microsoft’s Game Pass service — could be a key factor in Metal: Hellsinger’s success.

The new motorsport iteration from EA and Codemasters represents a marked evolution from the last two chapters in the series. The driving system has been revised to adapt to the new rules and although it may seem more complex to master at times, find the right measures, we guarantee it will give you enormous satisfaction. The career and stable modes, thanks to small but significant improvements, offer an incredible rate of challenge and fun that will keep the player glued to the screen for many, many hours. Embellishing the package even more are the PlayStation Home-style mode: F1 Life, which is more of a meeting place than anything else, Pirelli Hot Lap, time trials, Grand Prix and the online mode. In short, F1 22, is a content-rich title that will delight both Formula 1 fans and novices approaching the series for the first time.

WWE 2K22 represents the return of great wrestling. Skipping 2K21 and delaying the launch by as much as five months may have affected the roster (a bit skimpy due to the layoffs of several superstars), but the game works great, and is chock-full of content to choose from. An excellent Rey Mysterio Showcase further embellishes the experience, and every other mode (perhaps with the exception of MyFaction) lays a solid foundation for WWE games to come. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but if you are a wrestling fan, consider WWE 2K22 a must.

Ghostwire: Tokyo by Tango Gameworks is an incredibly intriguing title. The narrative plot is well-written and never feels cliché. Although the gameplay isn't the most original or inspired, it manages to convince. Akito's abilities, with the help of KK, are a lot of fun to use, especially as the player levels up. The only downside is the control system, which isn’t mapped very well and can be slightly confusing at times. In conclusion, although Ghostwire: Tokyo marks a drastic change in direction for Shinji Mikami and his team, thanks to a perfect balance of frantic action and horror exploration, it will satisfy both long-time fans of the Japanese producer and newcomers alike!

Elden Ring is the definitive (we would almost call it “glorious”) title from FromSoftware. With a refined combat system that encapsulates new ideas and an open world that is nothing short of perfect for exploration, Miyazaki's work sets a new benchmark for titles in this genre. Although the cross-gen nature is felt, Elden Ring is an essential title not to be missed; whether you are a Soulslike fan or not, we guarantee that Elden Ring will immerse you in sublime worlds from which you will never want to leave.

RÉPUBLIQUE is a fascinating game characterized by unique gameplay that works incredibly well, even years after its original launch. Although the story does not reach its climax, aided by a somewhat weak final act, it is narrated really well. Hopefully, after this Anniversary Edition, there will be plans for a new title in the franchise, or, at the very least, a revival of the stealth genre, perhaps never really understood.

Overall, Never Alone: Arctic Collection is an atmospheric title that tells the traditional story of Alaska Natives very well. There are a few slightly frustrating moments that prevent it from reaching perfection, but we assure you, if you have not already experienced it, that this is a unique, fulfilling and enjoyable experience that can be completed in a very few hours.

Ultimately, Dying Light 2 is nothing more than a solid sequel to the 2015 original, improving on some previously seen elements such as the day/night alternation and introducing interesting new mechanics that make the gameplay experience even more fun, immersive, and parkour. It is really disappointing, however, that the narrative and open world promises made by Techland before launch have not been fulfilled. The player's choices do not have the impact one would expect, and the map is much less varied and compelling than seen during the title's development. Nevertheless, Dying Light 2 is fantastic and challenging to play, which is why we feel we can recommend it to both novices to the genre and lovers of survival horror games.

Pumpkin Jack - New-Gen is a really not bad title. The story is well told and is full of humorous jokes. The gameplay is a fair balance of combat and platforming through linear but really interesting levels. Visually the game looks good on PS5 and has two modes that favor performance and quality respectively. The soundtrack is also eerie to the point and fully convinces. In short, Pumpkin Jack is a fantastic homage to classic 3D action-adventure games that is definitely worth a try.

Despite some initial skepticism about whether or not the result would be enjoyable, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is everything a game dedicated to the Guardians of the Galaxy should be. It is first and foremost focused on the characters (almost faithfully reproduced), the comedy, and the 1980s atmosphere that is at the heart of the movie and comic book franchise. In addition, the fights are fun and frenetic (although we would have expected a higher challenge rate) make the campaign (lasting about 20 hours) enjoyable and hilarious. All of this is enhanced by a tenfold soundtrack. In short, we are in the presence of a fine title that definitely deserves to be expanded in the future.

Crysis Trilogy Remastered includes three really good games, with about thirty hours of entertainment for basically the price of one. However, these are games that have ten years or so behind them, and this should be kept well in mind before making a purchase. There are no new expansions or unreleased story modes included in this trilogy, so in terms of content it is exactly the same as before, and although we enjoyed all three titles, on balance this trilogy seems a bit lazy. Some technical improvements have been made, mainly through 4K and HDR support. If you have never played this series, there is no better opportunity than to experience it through the Crysis Remastered trilogy. If, on the other hand, you already own Crysis 1-3, there is no reason to throw money away on what is in the end mainly a resolution upgrade.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is an excellent update for PS5. It definitely works better than the original version, and the additional content as well as the new features have been seamlessly integrated into the game. It is an experience that we definitely feel like recommending to those who have not already played the title on PS4, as long as you like the gameplay that is definitely not among the easiest and lightest in the video game landscape. On the other hand, for those who would like to continue Sam's adventures on PS5, it is possible to enjoy the experience offered by this Director's Cut by shelling out only 10 euros.

Barring some minor flaws, with Knockout Home Fitness, Marvelous has managed to create one of the best home fitness games available on the market. It involves the whole body, offers faster and more intense workouts, and doesn't even require much space to play (just make sure you don't kick a table or anything else). If you're looking for a fitness game that keeps you active through an unconventional system while teaching you some basic martial arts moves, you won't go wrong by buying Knockout Home Fitness.

Few games have the confidence and swagger of Deathloop. Full of charisma and wit, it is a title that can be played in a variety of ways. Not a stealth game but not an FPS either, there is no right or wrong that the player can do. It's all about how you feel about tackling a given mission. It is too bad that it is too linear and rather driven, not to mention that the poor artificial intelligence in some moments literally breaks up the gameplay moments. That said, it is an experience that should definitely be tried.

Lost in Random is set in a masterfully crafted world that tells a gothic fairy tale story that despite its dark tone, manages to be touching and moving. The characters are well characterized and the gameplay is certainly interesting and unique. If you are a fan of Tim Burton, his work and more, you cannot miss this little gem!

Thanks to the unique features of DualSense, exploited well by the developer, virtually immediate loading and a jaw-dropping graphical rendering, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut represents the complete and definitive experience of the Sucker Punch-branded production. In addition, the new expansion (Iki Island) and the Legends multiplayer mode that is about to update itself by offering additional challenges, further elevating the hours of gameplay leads us to recommend this Director's Cut as much to players who have already experienced Jin's exploits and as much to those who have not yet played the title.

Suda51's games lack big budgets and triple-A curation, but they superbly tie together so many different styles that they manage to increase the production value, and No More Heroes 3 achieves a level never seen before. With a wide variety of different play and combat styles, No More Heroes 3 rarely feels stale, managing to be almost always dynamic, fun, and fresh from start to finish. If you have any doubts because of 2019's not-so-bright spin-off, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, you can sleep easy dreams, No More Heroes 3 brings the series back to its top form in what is probably one of the best releases to date.
