Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn arrives on the market promising much, but ultimately delivers little new to the player. While its breathtaking environments and inspiration from the Mesopotamian pantheon are visually striking, they cannot compensate for a combat system lacking identity and a rather empty world with few long-lasting activities. Perhaps it's a bit late in the gaming cycle for such a proposition; it would have undoubtedly found a larger audience on previous console generations.

Giving identity to something as basic as the geometric shapes we see every day is no easy feat, but after playing Void Sols, we can confidently say the development team has succeeded. With its minimalist look and familiar mechanics, Void Sols stands out as a solid addition to the soulslike genre, making it a must-play for fans of combat and exploration. The only downside is the complete lack of dialogue, which makes the experience a bit too silent and may not appeal to all players.

On paper, Voidwrought is an excellent Metroidvania that we particularly recommend to fans of the genre, offering fluid and enjoyable gameplay mechanics. However, the title ultimately delivers what can only be described as a 'homework assignment.' While exploration is undoubtedly the game's strong suit, its combat system, while theoretically sound, suffers from some execution issues, quickly becoming repetitive and mundane due to the game's overall lack of challenge. Fortunately, this somewhat precarious structure is supported by an impeccable art direction that leaves a lasting impression on the player.

It's tough to beat a classic like Gothic, but DROVA - Forsaken Kin gives it a real shot. This RPG is a deep dive into Celtic mythology, packed with quests and a story that'll keep you hooked. It's perfect for anyone who loves old-school RPGs and wants a challenging adventure. That said, the combat can feel a bit repetitive after a while, and it might be too tough for some. But overall, it's a great game that fans of the genre should definitely check out.
