Joonatan Itkonen's Reviews
The difference between good-bad and outright bad-bad is often a thin red line. Wanted: Dead is clearly the latter, and it doesn't even attempt to be anything else.

I had such high hopes for Darktide, and each one of them ended up a disappointment. This is a dire, bland, and often very broken multiplayer experience that doesn't capture an iota of the fun or horrific awe the franchise should inspire.

Crisis Core was always an outlier, even if it was the best of the expanded Final Fantasy 7 gaming universe. 20-plus years later, it stands out as a decent, if oddly-paced and often poorly-written prequel that you won't miss if you decide to skip it. Only for the fans, this one.

Gungrave G.O.R.E isn't big, novel, or even new, but it is damn fun for the short amount of time that it lasts. You probably shouldn't pay full price for it, but fans of this particular style of shooter will be in gory, blood-soaked heaven.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn doesn't reinvent the wheel, but even as a light remaster it's among the best of its genre. For fans, this is a must-buy. For everyone else, it's a fine introduction to one of the original classics that continues to set the standard.

A janky, broken nightmare that nobody should have to experience.

While I appreciate the wild swings and big ideas that Nier: Automata presents, the simple fact remains that it's just not engaging enough as a game or as a story to warrant as many playthroughs as it demands. It could probably work better as an OVA. But as a game, it's just a frustrating work of repetition and dire plotting.

God of War Ragnarök proves that any franchise can find new life in the right hands. It is a spellbinding work of art, made better by its belief that gamers deserve great narratives. The kind we can return to for decades to come.
With polished graphics and the same superlative gameplay, this one is a winner.
Live A Live is a delightful, if unsurprising, remaster of a classic that received barely any attention in the West when it was first released. Now, it's finally here, and somehow still feels as inventive and fresh as the day it first came out.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a superlative expansion that feels like a miracle when you play it on the Nintendo Switch. There's no reason for it to work this well, yet it does, and it's a joy from beginning to end.

OlliOlli World is a superbly designed, raucously funny, and wholesome skateboarding title that everyone, everywhere, can enjoy. It's one of the best sports games ever made.

It won't replace the gym and it's not even the best exercise game on the Switch, but Let's Get Fit is a decent enough effort, and a fun first step into getting yourself moving at home, even if it's just for a little bit.

Triangle Strategy has a silly name, but the game itself is serious business. This is a smartly designed and often deviously fun strategy title for fans of Final Fantasy Tactics and beyond.

It's more LEGO and more Star Wars, yet it's packed with content and lovingly crafted recreations of iconic film moments to the point that all complaints fall by the wayside. Played with the family, it's the best Star Wars game in years.

A superlative fantasy horror that smartly uses well-worn tropes in a quest to shake up the genre foundations. It's a heartbreaking masterpiece that, once you play it, you'll never forget it.

During the review period, the PC version of Elden Ring suffered from stuttering, jank, and camera issues. The day one patch clears most of these issues, allowing FromSoftware's ambitious and mostly successful open-world adventure to emerge fully. It lacks the polish of Dark Souls 3, but Elden Ring is the start of something new and grand, one that should make fans of the hard-as-nails franchise very happy.

The idea is sound, but the tedious design and overtly complicated gameplay loop make Sifu more of a chore than epic adventure.
A highlight of the PlayStation 4 era, now beautifully remastered for the PlayStation 5, Uncharted is just as superb as ever.
Four years after its original release, God of War is finally on PC. The story is as great as ever, and the gameplay feels just as dated as before. It's still a worthwhile adventure, but here's hoping the sequel proves more inventive.
