Fresh from the 2010s, Plant vs. Zombies has made its return to the spotlight with Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Available on PC, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, developers PopCap Games and The Lost Pixels claim that the Replanted version of the game is "bigger, brighter and crazier than before." Plants vs. Zombies was all the rage when it was released, even I was a victim of the game's craze. Fourteen years later, here we are testing the remastered version - the circle of life. Let's see how this tower defense game stands up against time.
Released September 5th, 2025, Shuten Order (Shuten Kyodan) claims to the be the “ultimate adventure game” on its website. Let’s see if Shuten Order can convert us to their ways. Will we pray for the end of the world, or just the end of this game?
Through TV and movie adaptions, Stine's stories live on through new generations. Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek is yet another tale in this saga. I would encourage young players to try out this game, purely for the narrative and puzzle elements. The finicky controls are much more forgivable for young gamers, so Goosebumps would be a much more enjoyable experience for the intended audience. Any adult Goosebumps fans, however, will find themselves disappointed in the outcome.
In Shambles Studio has my heart in shambles with this adorable August release. Catto's Post Office is a short yet devastatingly cute cosy game that captured my heart in the 42 minutes it took to complete.
Overall, ADAPL is a submersive game that explores topics of loneliness and fear through the narrative. The game is straightforward with simple controls, focused on dialogue and introspection. ADAPL is a good choice of game for players with patience and an interest in psychological themes. This was definitely one of the more interesting games I have played this year. You only need to carve out one hour to fully play and digest the content. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is worth a try.
Overall, I absolutely loved Mashina. Controls are easy and gameplay is straightforward, making it an excellent choice for a low-stakes game. Adapting the game to both keyboard and mouse introduced some issues, but for a two-man team this is an impressive milestone for version one.
My Friendly Neighborhood toes the line between horror and humour, in an epic survival quest that turns nostalgia into apprehension. I definitely recommend this game to those looking for a less serious adventure that still provides the gratification and entertainment of bigger titles. I will certainly be revisiting it in my spare time.
