It is very easy to write off Catto's Post Office as a 30-minute fetch quest with a five-dollar price tag and awkward controls. However, beneath the surface, it is a game that reveals much about life and how to make normal days more meaningful. Spending time in a nursing home watching jumping pineapples feels meaningful, not because of the content, but because it gives time for reflection and an opportunity to spend time with one's elderly relatives. It might be difficult to take the time to reflect on these moments and give them meaning in personal day-to-day lives; however, Catto's Post Office is a reminder of the reward of doing so!

Catto’s Post Office is a brilliant little mail delivery game developed by Brisbane-based indie devs In Shambles Studio and published by CULT Games (Go-Go Town). It’s the perfect palate cleanser between heavier games, or a sweet wind down if you’re after something short, cute, and cosy.

Catto’s Post Office is a cute adventure that could do much more if time allowed. This game would have been a platinum for me if there was just a bit more to it. That, by no means, is me saying this game is bad. It was a really cute little break from horror and games where you need to be able to think before you can do anything. Sometimes all you need is a short game to take a breather, and this game is perfect for that. More than anything, I just want to play more of it! I’m giving Catto’s Post Office the Thumb Culture Gold Award — a game definitely worth its price point!

Catto's Post Office is a cute but overly simple game aimed at the very youngest players. Its bland gameplay is saved only by its reasonable price tag.

If I had to sum up Catto’s Post Office in one sentence, it’s the warm mug of cocoa of gaming. You drink it quickly, it makes you smile, and it leaves you just a little cozier inside. For me, it’s worth having in my library as a “reset button” for my mood, a short, guaranteed dose of calm between heavier, more demanding games. Just go in knowing you’re buying a moment, not a marathon.

Catto’s Post Office is a delightfully cosy little game; its simple narrative and design leave players with a sense of relaxation. The short length means it’s easy to replay, and it has just enough in terms of extra content that players should have a decent amount of fun.

As much as I wanted to love this game, there’s no denying it could have done more with its charming setup. For starters, the game only gives you a few small side missions tied to the parcels. What if every delivery came with a task, like helping the florist arrange a bouquet or prepping a treat for yourself at the café? That could’ve turned this from a 40-minute filler to a cosy two- or three-hour delight.
