Even if not all the bugs and errors were ironed out we're still treated to an incredibly charming indie horror that wears its inspirations proudly on its sleeve and will make fans of the old PlayStation era very happy. Post Trauma tells a deeply moving story, perfectly exploits the strengths of fixed camera perspectives despite its technical weaknesses and is ideal for a playthrough in one go. The puzzles are never unsolvable, but still keep you entertained, the combat is more of a secondary concern, and the game would probably have worked just as well without them.

Atomfall doesn't overdo it in its vision and Rebellion delivers a pared-down yet complex gaming experience. Something I'd love to see more of in this style. The individual areas offer a lot to explore and look truly beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing in the Lake District. If you have a Game Pass subscription, you should definitely give it a look, but I can also definitely recommend the game if you like the setting and aren't necessarily keen on spending 200 hours creeping through the next way to big open world.

Although this is a fairly classic JRPG, it's not all about the battles and leveling up your party. While that's certainly an important part of the game, the true fascination lies in the alchemy portion of the game, which drew me into a seemingly endless whirl of combinations and improvements that I neither expected nor wanted to resist. Another hour quickly passed, during which I simply spent time in my studio, synthesizing various items. On top of that, the game is perfect for beginners: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dreamed Land completely captivated me as a series newcomer, continually teaching me new mechanics and telling me a gripping story in which my party grew closer and closer together.

Karma: The Dark World strives to be art, drawing on some genre classics and for the most part, it succeeds quite well, delivering an immersive and, above all, creepy experience for players. There are moments when the game is a bit too transparent and lacks deeper gameplay, but overall, these criticisms are ultimately overshadowed by the game's many virtues. I definitely had a good time and hope we'll see more from this team in the future.

Monster Hunter Wilds perfectly combines the strengths of its predecessors, World and Rise, making it more accessible than ever with its various quality-of-life features, while still managing to avoid overly diluting the gameplay. New features like Focus Slam and Wounds add new & fun elements to the battles and the changing weather creates the impression of a vibrant game world in which you can move (almost) completely freely.

For me, Assassin's Creed Shadow is by far the best installment in the series so far and will hopefully serve as a blueprint for future releases. The Japanese game world is incredibly well realized, the seasons and dynamic weather enhance the experience immensely and the decision to simply split the two very different gameplay aspects - stealth and action - between two characters works perfectly.

Even though the story lacks a bit of impact, the spin-off thoroughly entertained me and I'd happily don the eye patch again anytime. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the perfect proof that video games don't always have to take themselves so seriously and another building block that demonstrates how great, absurd and diverse the series is. The naval battles were one of the game's biggest highlights for me, being able to engage in real-time combat again after Infinite Wealth was a welcome change and I'm already looking forward to the next spin-off of the series.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a more than worthy successor in every respect, immersively continuing Henry's story and not shying away from critical topics. Above all, the game world with its special charm captivates players like few other games. Technically, not everything runs smoothly and without issues, which can hopefully be patched in the future, but even so, what Warhorse Studios has created here is more than remarkable. And even if not everything is 100% historically accurate or completely realistic, the game creates a believable world and does that well without fantasy elements.

As a fan of surreal horror the game's atmosphere captivated me from the start. The PlayStation 1-esque look is tailor-made for me and the game's narrative design is incredibly well executed. The story keeps you hooked until the end and aside from a few technical glitches, there's really nothing I can find to criticize about the game. Mouthwashing is exactly the fresh mouthwash you need after AAA titles like the Silent Hill 2 remake to reawaken the beautifully disturbing and creative facets of horror.
