Star Fox for the Nintendo Switch 2 is the ultimate way to experience this gem from the 1990s, revitalised thanks to its superb visuals and cutscenes that take the storyline to a whole new level – one that no other version even comes close to. Although the gameplay hasn’t received the same level of attention, and is starting to show its 30 years a little, and whilst the campaign’s length may not appeal to players simply looking to see the credits roll, this is a successful reboot that provides a fresh launchpad for Fox McCloud and the rest of the Star Fox squad to blast off towards stardom with several hours of solid fun.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book invites players to discover and explore, aiming to open the door to a less experienced audience seeking a smooth, worry-free adventure—something it delivers in spades, even if its non-existent difficulty level is hard to overlook. Even so, despite the occasional soft-locks and the inclusion of a few creatures that aren’t particularly memorable, there is a solid vein of creativity here that continually pumps out new mechanics and is well worth experiencing.

Legacy of The Dark Knight is the ultimate love letter to everything Batman, from the original comics to the films and everything else surrounding this cornerstone of the DC universe, serving as a spiritual successor to the original Arkhamverse adventures. With an adventure spanning various eras, packed with jokes and references that pay homage to the original material, a superbly realised Gotham City brimming with content, and the return of Arkham-style combat—which I’d missed terribly—this title is a safe bet for anyone seeking quality action, whether playing solo or with friends, for both LEGO fans and Batman fans alike.

As a newcomer to the MotoGP franchise, my experience with this year’s edition was positive, thanks to the various assist features provided by the game, which made me feel welcome and will appeal to a wide range of fans of this genre, not to mention the robust handling system and generally impressive visuals. Even so, the adaptive difficulty, which is completely out of kilter or simply poorly implemented, the career mode which, whilst competent, introduces nothing innovative, and the painfully long loading times are some of the drawbacks of a high-speed experience that aims to please both pros and novices alike.

Screamer is a game brimming with personality and character, offering an old-school experience that will take you back to simpler times in the world of video games, with updates that are, for the most part, well executed. Despite a story that takes centre stage without merit and some design choices that seem designed to annoy the player, this is, on the whole, a good title within the genre, with a robust onboarding system for the various modes via its campaign mode, plenty of unlockables that don’t break the bank, and handling that, despite initial friction, is worth mastering, making it well worth a look for fans of traditional arcade racing.
