A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, much like the film series it is based on, builds its tension entirely around silence, delivering an intensely suspenseful gameplay experience. The FPS survival horror title emphasizes slow and careful movement, while cleverly utilizing controller speakers on consoles to pull players into a disturbingly realistic nightmare. It truly shines with its immersive gameplay mechanics.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me doesn’t offer any major innovations in terms of gameplay or graphics, but it still manages to stand out as the best entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology series so far, coming closer than ever to reaching the quality level of Until Dawn.

While presenting its semi-fictional, semi-historical vision of Japan shaped by different eras, the game does far more than simply incorporate the country’s landscapes and samurai attire into the story. Sucker Punch Productions carefully weaves countless cultural elements into the experience, ranging from the code and discipline of being a samurai to Japanese customs and traditions, as well as legends, folklore, and even the art of haiku poetry. The studio goes to remarkable lengths to ensure that players truly feel like they belong to that world.
