Mycopunk is a quirky co-op shooter featuring chaotic battles against fungal enemies, unusual weapons, and a creative upgrade system. With varied missions, hidden challenges, and plenty of fun to share with friends, it offers plenty of reasons to return to the battlefield. Stupid Never Dies offers an unusual premise, interesting monster transformations, and occasional flashes of absurd humor. However, repetitive combat, clunky controls, and uneven difficulty undermine the experience. It's entertaining in short bursts but struggles to remain engaging over longer sessions.
Frostpunk Nintendo Switch delivers the same tense and challenging experience that made the original so memorable. I enjoyed it just as much as before, while the ability to play comfortably while lying down makes this version even more appealing. It can still be frustrating when you fail to plan ahead, but the well-executed Switch port makes it an excellent choice for strategy fans.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse delivers a strong return to classic 2D action, with satisfying combat, striking gothic visuals, and an excellent soundtrack. While its exploration and platforming play things relatively safe, it remains a highly enjoyable adventure for fans of the series.
Mexican Ninja brings Mexican and Japanese culture together in an over-the-top action adventure built around fast-paced combat, outrageous special moves, and unapologetically crude humor. Its roguelike elements and varied builds offer plenty of room for experimentation, although repetitive levels, limited enemy variety, and occasional readability issues keep it from reaching its full potential. Still, fans of characterful beat ’em ups will find plenty to enjoy in this unusual adventure
Sandwalkers is at its best when it makes you stop and think before taking your next step. Its exploration, uncertainty and resource management create a great sense of risk, although the repetitive gameplay loop and some technical issues prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is an entertaining sequel that works best when you're actually on the pitch. The flashy moves, familiar characters and faithful anime presentation should satisfy fans, but the slow Story Mode, frequent interruptions and limited multiplayer keep it from reaching its full potential.
Ledgerbound is a refreshing tactical RPG that combines the familiar Fire Emblem formula with sharp humor, memorable characters, and an unusual time-management system. Its battles offer plenty of room for strategy, while the relationships and corporate satire give the game an identity of its own. It isn't perfect, but it's different and entertaining enough to deserve the attention of tactical RPG fans.
Case Solved: The London Files is an excellent choice for players who enjoy logic puzzles and deductive reasoning. While it doesn't offer a lengthy campaign or a deeply narrative detective adventure, its clever cases, cozy noir atmosphere, and satisfying puzzle design make it well worth playing. If you enjoy games that reward careful thinking rather than quick reflexes, this is an easy recommendation.
ClockFall delivers a refreshing take on the roguelite genre by combining dungeon crawling, village defense, and time management into one addictive gameplay loop. While it's still in Early Access and has room to grow, its unique mechanics and satisfying progression already make it an easy recommendation for fans of strategic action roguelites.
Gothic 1 Remake looks set to modernize a cult RPG classic without losing the identity that made the original so beloved. With a larger world, improved combat, expanded lore, and faithful design choices, it has the potential to become the definitive way to experience Gothic for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
SAROS is one of the most impressive PlayStation 5 exclusives in recent years. Housemarque successfully combines intense roguelike gameplay with an excellent cosmic horror story and an outstanding atmosphere. While certain systems and the ending are not perfect, the game leaves a very powerful impression and easily establishes itself as a serious Game of the Year contender.
