Disneyland Adventures is not the best Xbox One X game out there and although it successfully channels Disney, the gameplay is quite basic and does border on boring at times, even for younger players. Nonetheless, the exploration is fun but just be warned that things get very repetitive very early on.
Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure on Xbox One X is a title for younger players, however the overall replay value is lacking and doesn't really do much to enhance the experience on the Xbox One X. Compared to the Kinect version, it's superior but in the grand scheme of things, it's unfortunately just another port to a more powerful console.
Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection may be just another sim at its core, however the developers give the player some good gaming mechanics and spectacular 4K graphics. The control system is a little so-so but overall it still works well on this new console. So if you're looking for your next sim fix, Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection ticks the right boxes.
Super Lucky's Tale is the first platformer on the Xbox One X that gives players an honest arcade experience with a fun protagonist, decent mechanics and truly impressive 4K graphics.
In conclusion, Gran Turismo Sport is one of the best GT experiences on any Playstation console, however it does have limited content compared to its competitors such as Project Cars and Forza on the Xbox One. Graphically, it's a thoroughly impressive game, especially with 4K HDR and then you have the option of VR which gives you a very immersive experience but more would have been nice, especially more content for offline. Needless to say, the developers have pushed for online which may turn some players away but if you're looking for a total online experience, GT Sport definitely delivers on that scale and offers a very simulated racing game from start to finish… just be warned that you need to put in the hours.
Pokken Tournament is a very entertaining game on the Nintendo Switch that successfully gives players an almost Tekken-light experience on this console that is more fun than controller rage. Furthermore, there's quite a bit of depth hidden in this game and hours upon hours of replay value to keep you engaged as you fight the various Pokémon.
Forza Motorsport 7 aims high and thankfully delivers one of the best racers for 2017.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition is a decent addition to the stable of Nintendo Switch games and of course from a Once Piece perspective. It's a fun experience on the Nintendo Switch with lots of quests to embark on and is a relatively sturdy gaming system. The multiplayer component of the game could have been fleshed out more but nonetheless, it creates a fun game for fans of the One Piece series.
Sure, this is not a new game but Rayman Legends is a truly fun game on the Nintendo Switch that is definitely a must have title if you love arcade games, particularly of this calibre. Lastly, the level design is brilliant and the developers successfully take a 2D game and turn it into something very special on this new portable console that not only pays homage to the platformers of yesteryear but creates a very compelling modern game for the 21st century.
StarCraft Remastered is a true test of time and although the original still works well today, the remastered version is a fun experience. Sure, it's a little clunky here and there but Blizzard have really brought the game into the 21st century, especially with its revamped graphics that look glorious, not to mention multiplayer updates. All in all, it's a fun trip down memory lane that just highlights the memories again and for those who have never played it before, it will allow them to experience what all the Terran, Zerg and Protoss fuss was all about.
The Namco Museum successfully ports these classic games onto a modern console that allows both new and veteran gamers the chance to experience these historic titles or relive them again.
What makes David Attenborough's First Life VR so interesting is the content behind the visuals which is like a virtual reality edutainment experience and even though it's only 15-mintues long, it's definitely a title that can be revisited time and time again.
This edutainment experience goes for a whopping 18-minutes and gives the viewer just enough information to keep you entertained as you explore these underwater wrecks. It's really quite fascinating that is made even more enjoyable thanks to the VR experience.
Probably my favourite PS VR Experience so far because it's almost like swimming with the sharks and all the other sea life in this area. Seeing the sharks swim by and with the headset, it really gives the illusion that you are underwater and it feels like you could almost reach out and touch the sharks.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is another must have title for the Nintendo Switch and is a racer that is accessible by everyone, whether a veteran gamer, casual gamer or even someone who has never played before. So if you're looking for some great racing fun on the Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on all levels… it's a me, Mario Kart!
The gaming spirit behind Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! is the engagement factor behind its simplistic yet clever gaming mechanics that draws you into this crazy little world. It's also a game that can be played with up to four people, however the perfect number is two as you both work together (and sometimes against each other) in order to achieve the desired outcomes.
There’s been much hype surrounding Horizon Zero Dawn and thankfully it has delivered in more ways than one. It boasts a very likeable and interesting protagonist and the story behind Horizon Zero Dawn is one that is filled with mystery and intrigue. Of course, it’s all about the gameplay and Guerrilla should be commended in creating such a fluid and dynamic game as you explore this post-apocalyptic world 1000 years in the future that is filled with different cultures and even history which seems so real. Combat is fun and the missions are diverse and at the end of the day, Horizon Zero Dawn is a title that really raises the benchmark on the PlayStation 4.
All in all, it's an enjoyable game for people of all ages as they dance to their hearts content, backed by some of the world's hottest singers and bands.
It's been awhile since a Bomberman game has graced a Nintendo console and it's good to see the franchise make a comeback, even if it stays a little too true to its original format. However if you're looking for a solo-experience, I would recommend another title but if you're looking for some multiplayer fun for local or online play, Bomberman R delivers on that front and is a great way to spend an hour or so blowing your friends, family and colleagues to smithereens.
Gravity Rush 2 is a fun game on the PlayStation 4 that offers players quite a diverse gaming platform/adventure title with plenty of things to do. I really enjoyed the stylised graphics that when matched with the special effects, audio and storyline, it created this quite immersive story from start to finish with fun characters. Sure, some of the control mechanics created a touch of controller rage but for the majority, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish.
