Robert Grosso's Reviews
It's very tempting to just throw my hands up and say "it sucks" and be done with that, as no word count can accurately describe my disdain for Bad Rats Show. It is the type of game that is a joke at its own expense; garish in presentation, mediocre in its mechanics, and worst of all, boring to play.
School Girl/Zombie Hunter is just brainless in the worst kind of way; trying to pass itself off as being fun while being devoid of any fun factor.
Ashwalkers attempts to do something new with its blend of survival and storytelling, but it fails to be both compelling and a challenge for those who play it
The good ideas are there, the tactics can be complex, but the overall design of Warbanners is completely broken to the point of souring the entire experience.
ToeJam & Earl: Back in he Groove is a straightfroward game that really struggles to find any form of relevance beyond its nostalgia factor.
A bland game from the get go, Into the Stars has high production values and a great soundtrack, but it's mired in mediocrity thanks to its gameplay.
Subway Midnight is an indie horror game that provides a lot of atmosphere and ambiance but lacks the scares needed to be memorable.
Ember is just a flickering spark slowly dying out in the wind; the good ideas put into the game are buried under questionable and derivative design choices.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 tries to accommodate its namesake by offering sniping, sneaking and action into one open world package, but only sniping succeeds at being any fun.
Forged of Blood has a solid foundation, but the games mechanics don't always mesh together, often causing too many problems with the games own ambitions.
Riot - Civil Unrest portrays a political firestorm based on personal experience. It challenges players to make tough choices in hard times, ushering in uncontrolled anarchy despite its shallow gameplay.
Strange Brigade oozes personality and has a strong in-game aesthetic, capturing the charismatic essence of 1930s pulp adventure stories. Sadly, it suffers heavily from mediocre controls and repetitive gameplay, making it a hard sell for even the most intrepid explorer.
Bastard's Wound is really for Tyranny purists, a minor DLC to help extend an evil empire a little further than you expected.
While the Frostbite Edition of Icy is a more competent game than the first release, the final product here still struggles to make a lasting impression.
Valkyria Revolution has so much potential to it but the character interactions and terrible presentation lead it to be more boring than engaging.
Decisively average, The Technomancer can be an amusing role-playing experience thanks to its combat system, provided you are ready for constant repetition baked in a sub-par shell.
A well made, but ultimately shallow game, Devil Daggers is a good showcase piece for indie developer Sorath, and a decent score-chaser arcade game to kill some time with.
Black & White Bushido simply doesn't have a large base of players playing the game to make it a worthwhile experience, magnifying the flaws of the title further.
Experimental in many ways, Her Story is as captivating as any detective novel, so long as you have the patience or ability to care about the narrative.
Zorro: The Chronicles is a kid-friendly action-adventure that, despite some limitations, shows that the old fox has a few tricks up its sleeves.
