Andrew Stretch's Reviews

I am a Senior Writer for TechRaptor and I have a passion for most things Video Games and Technology. I picked up my first video games before the age of two and it has been difficult to keep me away from them since then. Nowadays I mostly play games on the Xbox One but have also been known to hop across to the PlayStation 4.
7.5 / 10.0 - Wild Hearts
Feb 16, 2023

Wild Hearts has everything you need for a competent Hunting style game. The weapons are fun to use and the upgrades go a long way to make you feel powerful. It's the Karakuri system that will be what draws new players to it adding a new level of depth to gameplay.

While the opening to Bloody Ties stumbles a bit once Aiden reaches the Carnage Hall this DLC does an amazing job not just in the challenges that it pushes upon players, but with the narrative depth surrounding Ciro and his family. Unfortunately key moments are let down by clunky combat.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Falconeer
Nov 6, 2020

The Falconeer is an interesting take on the aerial combat genre putting players in the saddle of large birds and setting off across a flooded world in search of balance between warring factions. While the story and world do feel incomplete the flight combat does a good job of staying entertaining.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order lets players hop into a galactic battle against Thanos. For a Marvel fan who enjoys RPG mechanics this is a fun buy, especially with others to play with. Some spotty online moments but well worth the fun.

7.5 / 10.0 - Toukiden 2
Apr 13, 2017

There is plenty here to entertain the casual players to the hardcore fans of monster hunting series. With a well built world and story driven characters you'll always be wanting to fight just one more monster, on your own or with a party of friends.

While giving players the chance to replay Sora's latest adventure in HD and adding important story information through Aqua's story and a movie this game does more to set up Kingdom Hearts III than enjoy it's own worth. A great addition for fans of the franchise that might leave new players scratching their heads.

The Jackbox Party Pack 3 brings a couple of great party games to almost any device you have, while a few included aren't quite as good as others as a package deal, it's something fun to bring to any party.

A fun third person roguelite that you will pick up to play a round and spend far too long trying to get just that bit further.

A great end to the story and a fun Naruto themed fighting game that fans won't want to miss out on. Even if Naruto isn't your thing I would still say it's worth a try.

7.5 / 10.0 - Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is a fun game that takes what you see on the screen and manages to successfully translate it to your console. Great for both fans of the franchise and those who are interested in checking it out.

7.5 / 10.0 - Goat Simulator
Apr 28, 2015

Goat Simulator is a fun game to pick up and play with plenty of laughs to be had alone or with friends but doesn't take too long to complete or have much replay value.

8 / 10.0 - World of Horror
Oct 18, 2023

World of Horror does an incredible job matching the 80s horror aesthetic in both look and gameplay. While the gameplay and some of the deeper mechanics are obtuse on first entry, through experimentation you'll find out just how deep this roguelike gets.

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 brings with it an excellent variety of party games to fit any mood. Whether you want to perform and engineer the comedy yourself or have the game provide ample opportunity there's a game that will appeal to everyone. That being said, there also might be games that just don't appeal to you at all.

8 / 10.0 - Axiom Verge 2

Axiom Verge 2 continues the expansive story of the Axiom Verge universe, and while it might not do Indra justice, it does deliver on exceptional gameplay and exploration. Fans of the original game, or the genre, will not want to miss this experience.

Zanki Zero takes the dark and compelling storytelling of Lancarse' Danganronpa and successfully applies it to a new genre. Mixing together heavy simulation elements with a deep narrative and first-person dungeon crawling this might not be the game for anyone but if you're in for a wild adventure this might be your cup of tea.

8 / 10.0 - Timespinner
Nov 5, 2018

Timespinner is a fantastic example of an excellent Metroidvania that mixes great character upgrades, a fun and diverse overworld, and a beautiful 16-bit look. The story not only combines the personal tragedy of a chosen one but adds grey to what's normally a black and white debate.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a faithful recreation of the original three Spyro games for current gen consoles. Toys for Bob was able to get the look and feel of Spyro down while adding a cherry on top bundling it all together and creating a new and improved soundtrack.
