"The magic of Legends: Arceus stems from dozens of smaller quality-of-life improvements. Some are long-requested, others are simply revelatory — mechanics I’d never even considered in all my fantasies of the ideal Pokémon game. Whether it be Pokémon displaying unique character traits, cohesion between the different mechanical systems, or the crafting of items, developer Game Freak has the right ideas in place for the future of the series."
It's all style and little substance in this sequel/spinoff to Persona 5.
A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy with the best locations in the series
Immortals Fenyx Rising merges the best and worst of Ubisoft games with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Valhalla marries the best combat in the series with a more organic world.
While Ubisoft presents its best open world to date, the main gameplay hook falls flat.
At its core, there’s a solid Mario Kart game here, and I hope the environmental and gate effects are brought over to the main series for the proper ninth installment, as I think those additions could add something to the franchise.
For those whose favorite games list features the three titles in this collection, you’ll probably be over the moon with the opportunity to play them all at any time on either your TV or on the go. Expertly crafted both in story and gameplay, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is at the same time both a unique experience and a derivation of some of gaming's best.
Splatoon 2 remains accessible to gamers of all ages whilst adding new features that will delight fans of the original game. The most unique shooter on the market.
Snake Pass has some great design, but its mechanics fall short resulting in a lackluster experience that makes it hard to recommend as a day one purchase.
Whilst boasting a compelling story in the Halo universe, this game's shortcomings bog down an otherwise solid RTS.
A totally competent entry in the franchise that fans and newcomers will enjoy, even if that means they won't necessarily be floored by it.
