Onimusha: Warlords is a fun remaster for those who have not experienced the franchise.
INMOST was a pleasant surprise. The game was a short experience with a powerful narrative with effects that can last so much longer. As for the gameplay itself, the fun puzzles and collaboration with the story helped to bring the game to life.
Overall, Gordian Quest does a great job in implementing various gameplay elements and making them work together. While the Campaign Mode could have featured a better narrative and variety of activities, it still serves as a good entry point in the game as a long tutorial of sorts. From there, the game features a lot of replayability due to the number of classes and skills. As a deckbuilding RPG, Gordian Quest does a great job with the deckbuilding portion and is worth a look for fans of the genre.
Overall, Super Mega Baseball 4 is the best arcade-inspired baseball game on the market. It also does a great job with its simulation aspects while keeping the Super Mega Baseball form. My favorite part of the game, aside from its strong gameplay, is the amount of customization there is. Whether you want to customize players, teams, leagues, or difficulty levels, there is something you can change. Overall, Super Mega Baseball 4 is a great baseball videogame experience, especially if you want a departure from the MLB.
If you are a fan of classic stealth FPS games, classic FPS games, or even Western games in general, Blood West will be right up your alley. And if you’re not, Blood West may still be worth your time if you have any interest in it based on some of its other factors such as the eldritch horror, resource management, or even challenging gameplay. As someone who hasn’t had as much experience with stealth FPS games, it did take a bit of time to get accustomed to its workings, but once I hit my stride, I found it hard to put the game down.
Overall, Pepper Grinder is a solid action platformer. It has a unique feature that helps set it apart from the rest, despite some points that still feel quite generic. Aside from some difficulty spikes, Pepper Grinder is relatively easy and short to get through. While sometimes games can feel a bit too short or too long, the game feels like it hits the right spot in terms of length. Sure, we’re starting to reach a point of saturation with indie 2D action platformers, but there is always room for innovative, fun experiences and Pepper Grinder fits that mould perfectly.
Attack on Titan is an enjoyable title featuring fluid gameplay, enjoyable action sequences, and a story mode that all can enjoy.
Snipperclips is a fun, charming title that players will enjoy, and is a great start to the "Nindie" movement that Nintendo is embracing for the Switch.
Reigns: Her Majesty features more interesting character designs and artwork than the first
Overall, NBA 2K23 has some of the best gameplay in an NBA 2K game. While the MyPlayer mode is a bit of a shadow of its former self, the various additions and changes to MyTeam and MyNBA make up for it overall. Despite being on point in most areas, the Virtual Currency situation will definitely affect players’ enjoyment of the game. While the term “pay to win” does come to mind, NBA2K23’s gameplay and various modes are still very well done.
Ever Oasis features a charming aesthetic that begins with the character designs and continues through to the Oasis and even the dungeons.
… customizing your character's looks as well as improving your character is done with virtual currency.
I found the handheld mode to be done very well, performing (to the naked eye) almost equally to the docked performance
Overall, it feels as though Fairy Tail is targeted toward players who have knowledge or experience of the franchise already.
Overall, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is both a solid addition to the Ys franchise, as well as a good starting point for newcomers. While the combat can get a little repetitive, the overall gameplay loop does enough to keep players coming back for more. Monstrum Nox can feel a bit generic in various aspects at times, but beneath the surface is a deeper RPG than expected. The overall narrative combined with interesting characters, solid gameplay, and strong side content make Ys IX: Monstrum Nox a fun experience.
Although the missions are repetitive, the gameplay itself is amazingly fun.
The combat is fairly enjoyable, and the PvP aspect of the game is likely its greatest asset.
Overall, One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition is a well-made game that does the series justice.
Particularly, the shooting and movement mechanics felt great…
While Death's Gambit as a whole falls a bit short of expectations, the game itself is a solid action-RPG.
