While it does have flaws, and totally looks/plays differently from the original trilogy, Bayonetta Origins shines as a worthy prequel to our favorite Umbra Witch. You'll root for Cereza throughout her journey, and be thrilled when you see her come into her own.
Octopath Traveler II doesn't reinvent the wheel to stay relevant. Instead, it dives deeper into what made the first game so much fun. It doesn't hold up quite as well as the original, but it's still an excellent JRPG to play!
Fire Emblem Engage brings a lot to the table to entertain fans of past games while also welcoming new fans. Not everything works, and some things do fall flat, but overall, it's a lot of fun.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a bit shorter than you'd probably like, but there is a lot of heart, personality, and style in the game that can't be ignored. Make no mistake, despite being available on the PS4 and PS5, the PC version is the definitive edition.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hardly perfect games, far from it, in fact. But when you look past the visual setbacks and glitches, you'll find an expansive experience that begs to be explored in full. It doesn't do everything right, but it further sets up a future that fans will be excited for once they refine it more.
Bayonetta 3 is an action-packed romp filled with the insanity and sassiness you'd expect from these titles and PlatinumGames. The ending will rub many of you the wrong way, but everything up to that point is very much worth it.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a wonderful sequel that lives up to the original's quality and puts a lot of new elements into it. You'll have a blast going through the new worlds and finding your perfect team to fight Cursa with!
Splatoon 3 is a very fun title that people are going to enjoy for a long time due to the multiple modes, great quality of life improvements, and the new additions to things like the Splatfests! Jump in and see what so many are having fun playing.
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is a high-point of not just superhero video games, but all of gaming. The story, the mechanics, the depth of New York City, it's a beautiful thing. So if you can't play it on PS4/PS5, definitely try it on PC.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a near masterpiece of an RPG, and arguably is one in terms of its story alone. Add that to a great gameplay loop and vibrant world to explore, and you'll see just how great this title is almost every moment you play it.
Live A Live is an RPG that was reborn with new life and vigor, and it shows. It's a solid RPG that weaves all sorts of unique mechanics, stories and genres into one package that is very special indeed.
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes does right by Three Houses in the best of ways, but it does lean a bit too much into the Dynasty Warriors way in others. For diehards though, this is a must play.
Pokemon Legends Arceus is a game that no one was sure what to expect from it, but what they'll get from playing it is a game that is truly an experience, one long-desired by Pokemon fans. Filling up your Pokedex and exploring the Pokemon world has never been so much fun.
Metroid Dread was a game 15 years in the making, and it was well worth that wait. Full of great visuals, fun enemies, new powers, and a true sense of fear via the E.M.M.I. robots, you’re going to want to try this title for yourself, and then recommend it to others.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is perfect for any long-time fan of the franchise who wants new mysteries to solve and new characters to meet. Some of its gameplay mechanics do hold it back, but the story and courtroom battles will help you hang on through the journey!
NEO The World Ends With You may have taken a decade to come, but it not only pays respect to the past, but brings forth a beautiful cast of new characters to the mix to interview a story that few can match. It's not a perfect game, but it's a fantastic one you'll want to play.
New Pokemon Snap shines in bringing the Pokemon world to life and having you take pictures of it. It does have some long-game flaws, but in the short term, you’ll be in Nirvana as you see Pokemon left and right and try to get all the best shots of them.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity delivers on many grounds, delving deeper into the story of Breath of the Wild while also going and delivering a deeper take on the tale. Its combat is solid and you'll have fun testing out the various characters that arrive to help you.
Samurai Jack Battle Through Time brings us back to the future (and the past) one last time for one last grand Samurai Jack adventure. There’s a lot to appreciate here, but there are some pitfalls that will weigh down players and thus water down the experience.
Shantae And The Seven Sirens brings some very nice additions to the franchise like cutscenes, voice acting, and more. But it comes at a cost because they expanded a bit too much, and the game suffers as a result.
