An intriguing story premise and refreshing fast paced combat keeps Accel World vs. Sword Art Online from becoming another dull action RPG.
Pokken Tournament DX might not be a big jump in term of features from the Wii U version unlike Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but it does offer the best way to play the game. The additional new characters are fun to use and the Team Battle mode is a nice addition for multiplayer while utilizing the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch.
A charming fighting game that offers a great experience in co-op. It might be short in length but you will be able to enjoy a good amount of replay value in a party or with friends.
Mary Skelter: Nightmares is one of the better dungeon crawlers on the PS Vita. It combines the dungeon exploration with a fun combat system and attempts to simplify many of the chores that are usually a part of the Dungeon RPG genre.
This is a great collection of remastered games that aims to improve many of the shortcomings from the original trilogy, although it hasn't aged well in term of gameplay, the story and characters still remain a highlight for the series.
If you enjoyed I am Setsuna, there is a good chance that you will have a great time with Lost Sphear. If you didn't, it is hard to say if Lost Sphear will be able to pull you back in, since it works more as a spiritual successor than a brand new game.
Attack on Titan 2 is a pleasant surprise as a sequel. It is remarkable to see how the developers have managed to learn from their mistakes and turned the complete game around after a mediocre start.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT does offer the ultimate fanservice, but it is held back by the lack of single player content and a poorly designed story mode. The combat system is fun although flawed in design due to the chaotic nature of battles.
This is one of the better multiplayer offerings on the Nintendo Switch. It doesn't have much appeal solely as a single-player game since there is a lack of content with the short Adventure and Tournament mode, outside from that, it is still plenty of fun if you want to get it as a party game to play together with friends.
Little Nightmares: Complete Edition thankfully hasn’t suffered from a noticeable downgrade to get it running on the Nintendo Switch. This is a good opportunity for those who are in the market for a puzzle platformer to give it a chance since some of the issues with the initial game are now fixed with the Complete Edition.
Yoku’s Island Express is an incredibly fun and exceptionally beautiful game that somehow makes pinball fun. It offers a large variety of locations and has plenty of collectibles that will keep you occupied for a good amount of time.
Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee is the perfect nostalgia fix for the veteran Pokemon fan and an excellent gateway for players wanting to get into the series.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable rhythm games available on the Nintendo Switch. It additionally presents a unique multiplayer mixed in with all the exciting rhythmic action offering a substantial amount of replay value. The lack of gameplay modes is a fundamental flaw that hurts its lasting appeal.
A collection well suited for the classic Atelier fans. What makes it exciting is how these games still hold up fine even today, and if you haven't managed to play them, or started with the series, this is a good stepping stone for the franchise.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is another solid entry in the yearly franchise that really freshens up things. The campaign is excellent with Spec-ops being a viable alternative to the Zombies mode from the previous game. The multiplayer however is frustrating to play for series veterans like me who buy the game each year for the multiplayer.
Langrisser I & II are fairly solid RPGs and you can tell that the game inspired a lot of what the industry considers genre standards.
Although Ys: Memories of Celceta is not my favorite Ys game, it's certainly a very decent experience for action-rpg fans to enjoy. Getting into the game you can expect a full on fast paced 25-30 hour adventure, that honestly if you can get past the story you will never bored of it because of the battle system. Ys usually does certain things so good that you can try to ignore the shortcomings, with Memories of Celceta the overall experience is certainly very positive.
NBA 2K20 is no doubt the best option available if you want to play a good basketball game, but again there aren't many basketball games available in the market.
I was trying to go into Pokemon Sword & Shield with low expectation due to the realization that I wasn't going to get the huge reboot-like change that I've been waiting for so long, however, the game does feature enough new additions that I ended up actually putting in around 50 hours into it.
Teamwork is very important in the Payday series and not one member of the team is expendable. Each Heist has your crew complete certain tasks so knowing your role is very important. Playing an average Heist good Payday players will have one person working the primary objective like working the drill, one person doing the secondary objective like finding extra loot, one rounding up Police officers and the last one laying down traps and securing an escape route. There's nothing better than executing the perfect Heist and I mean that!
