7 / 10.0 - Overwatch 2
Oct 18, 2022

As things stand, Overwatch 2 is not so much a sequel, but more an update of the first chapter.

9 / 10.0 - NBA 2K23

8.5 / 10.0 - Crusader Kings III
Mar 31, 2022

Crusader Kings III has finally crossed the boundaries of our PCs to land in all its magnificence on the next-generation consoles. The dynastic grand strategy by Paradox Interactive and Lab42 gives a new audience of players the same, unforgettable, gaming experience proposed a couple of years ago (by the way, owners of the Game Pass subscription can download it for free, right on PC).

All in all, however, while not revolutionary, the expansion allows Hearthstone players to end the year on a high note.

Everything is declined in a discreet mix between runner platform and rhythm game. Hextech Mayhem will keep you busy for a handful of hours and, at a budget price of just under 10 euros, it was difficult to ask for more.

Ruined King is an RPG with undoubted qualities. Thanks to the fundamental artistic contribution of Joe "Mad" Madureira, the work manages to capture the attention of both fans who live permanently in Runeterra and newbies who have never heard of League of Legends.

8.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K22
Sep 20, 2021

Visual Concepts and 2K renew the appointment with the franchise dedicated to basketball stars and stripes. NBA 2K22 is a very ambitious title, perhaps too much. Leaving aside the technical sector and the shooting system, further refined, the "next gen" edition suffers from some failures (and choices that are too ambitious and rather risky) that certainly do not make the gaming experience unforgettable.

9 / 10.0 - Humankind
Aug 16, 2021

Humankind, in short, raises the quality standards of the 4X game, placing itself as the perfect "rival" of Civilization. This net of some gleanings that could be filed through future updates and safe expansions. If you're a lover of this genre, you can't really skip the date with Amplitude's work. The future, full support for mods and the world editor will help to enrich the title seamlessly.

8 / 10.0 - Chernobylite
Jul 28, 2021

Chernobylite is a title in some ways surprising: born from a small - but very talented - Independent Polish studio (those The Farm 51 already authors of Get Even) the work mixes in an inseparable whole different videogame genres. A horror / sci-fi narrative, not original but intriguing, role-playing elements, survival mechanics, a deep and layered crafting, a typical action of a first-person shooter and a micro management mechanic that perhaps invalidates a little too much the ambitious bet of the development team.

6.5 / 10.0 - Pokemon UNITE
Jul 26, 2021

Pokémon Unite starts from an excellent idea: to appropriate the main characteristics of the most popular genre ever, to shape it and give life to something new or, at least, endowed with a certain autonomous dignity. In addition, of course, there are Pokémon: we wonder why this idea had not been revealed before, but, evidently, it took the intervention of Tencent and TiMi to push on the accelerator. Pokémon Unite is still an intriguing and, at first, addictive proposal. The mechanics work very well and the title is a lot of fun.

Dark Alliance returns after about sixteen years of oblivion. Tuque's work, which became an in-house development studio at Wizards of the Coast, despite having a rather grandiose name and glorious past, starts from scratch adopting some rather drastic (and not always winning) solutions, for the canons of the hack 'n' slash genre.

6 / 10.0 - Open Country
Jun 10, 2021

FunLabs' new title is especially striking for its ambition. The development studio, in fact, for the first time dares to get out of the comfort zone that has characterized hunting games for years and offers the public a curious mixture between open world, dynamics extrapolated from the survivals and mechanics typical of any hunting game. The big problem with this clearly tight budget is that the mixture of genres is grouped into an unconsused and, above all, unbalanced mix.

The guys at Sumo Digital Newcastle try to offer a playful experience that is different from the usual and undoubtedly intriguing, at least on paper. Hood: Outlaws & Legends, in fact, is an atypical, brave product in many ways, that doesn't hide behind easy solutions.

This new edition is not a simple façade work: the technical update is there and you can see, with support for ultra-widescreen 4K monitors, as well as native UHD resolution, as well as the restoration of polygonal models, effects and physics management. The very heart of the playful experience has been reshaped to adapt to the times that run and this means a functional user interface, minimalist style magazine, slew of twists and useless frills.
