We had reservations about Bravely Default II, which in the transition from Nintendo 3DS to Switch we were not sure would preserve the magic of the originals, but the final code managed to dispel most of our fears. Although the product is very derivative, as the newborn Claytechworks studio and Team Asano have not deviated much from the canons of the saga, neither as regards the classic plot and for the brand's historic combat system, square Enix's new proposal has nonetheless proved to be a solid and engaging JRPG.

We were certain that Persona 5 Strikers presented a narrative system worthy of the name it bears, but we did not expect the title to also have such an articulated and engaging role-based and strategic component.

Although devoid of temporary power-ups and other mechanics of the genre, New Super Lucky's Tale is an honest and fun platformer, whose main flaws are represented by a longevity that runs out in 8-12 hours and a challenge rate calibrated downwards.

Although the development of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has encountered great difficulties, forcing the studio to postpone the PlayStation 4 version and cancel the PS Vita version, the Vanillaware team has still returned to the scene with an incomparable and intriguing title, which once again aims to shake up the terms of comparison of the two-dimensional video game, already largely redefined by their past works.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is not the title we were promised. Torn apart by a recurring dualism that contrasts originality with loyalty, the simplified management of the party with the excessive woodiness of the combat system, and so on, Bandai Namco's new proposal is constantly looking for its own dimension.

Marvel's Iron Man VR is exactly as we expected: immersive, frenetic and witty as the superhero to whom the game is dedicated. An intuitive, articulated and almost perfect control system is counterbalanced only by the technical limitations and the cumbersome cabling of PSVR.

Trials of Mana may represent a pleasant leap forward compared to the remake of its predecessor, but the end result still remains far from the current quality standards of PlayStation 4.

Regardless of the hardware, Dragon Quest XI continues to be the absolute masterpiece that last year won a place among the best JRPGs of the current generation. The pulsating heart of the product is in fact also represented by the wanderings of the hero through the brilliant licenses Disney and Pixar, capable of supporting and embellishing a fresco so undoubtedly epic but also imperfect, wounded by the gears of time. If we add to the recipe a frenetic and engaging combat system, the final result, in which the two souls of the crossover are mixed, therefore takes on a pleasantly bittersweet flavor.
Although fluctuating in terms of content, Beat Saber is an unmissable game for any PlayStation VR owner.
