XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is the "definitive" experience of XCOM 2, which not only hypothetically closes the circle of the development of the strategic sci-fi, but again raises the bar of excellence in the genre. The care taken in technical optimizations and in inserting content that does not unbalance the delicate balance of the challenge, shows how the developer has been sensitive to the requests of the community and has kept an eye on the development of the modding scene, adopting in his own way the features present in some of the most popular mods.

Train Mechanic Simulator tries to offer a good alternative to games like Car Mechanic Simulator, but it doesn't reach the quality of its sources of inspiration.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is a game clearly developed without care and passion: the only two positive features are the storyline and the beautiful mood of the series.

Even though he didn't create the 4X genre, Sid Meier and the Civilization series unquestionably nurtured and rose it to prominence for the last 25 years. The latest chapter succeeds, again, in bringing new life to the genre and raising the competition bar to new heights.

8.2 / 10.0 - Starbound
Oct 23, 2016

Starbound is one of the very few games that gets both "open world" and "sandbox" done right. The amount of activities available is astounding and the best part is you can avoid them all, if you wish to do just that.

When it was first announced, back in 2013, I hoped Warhammer 40.000: Eternal Crusade would be the natural "massive" evolution for the emergent gameplay found in Relic's Space Marine game, featuring a seamless transition between visceral ranged and brutal melee combat. Sadly this wasn't the case and most of the promised features have been either scrapped or severely reduced in scope, resulting in a published game with such sluggish gameplay and ugly visuals with little to no resemblance to the Relic shooter. We don't understand how it was possible to create a product of inferior quality, compared to a 5 year old game, using a vastly superior graphics engine like UE4, but the Canadian studio actually did it; maybe they tried to bite off more than they could chew.If you can ignore what it should've been and what it is now, you could have a good fun with Eternal Crusade, given you like grinding enough APs and Requisition credits to unlock enough Advancements and Equipment to make your character stand his ground.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada lets the player dispose of tens of thousands people at a time in battle, and the micro-management is no less complex. It appears as an excellent digital transposition of the original boardgame, and it also represents a great first test for the newborn development studio Tindalos Interactive.

6.8 / 10.0 - Blade & Soul
Apr 15, 2016

We waited a lot to play Balde & Soul, but NCSOFT's MMO arrives on the west market a little too late. The action oriented combat system is interesting and well designed, but PvP is still unbalanced and the endgame is tasteless and boring. The game, in conclusion, has very good intuitions but a very bad structure.
