Jordan Micheal's Reviews
There are a lot of good ideas displayed in Astral Chain but very little is well executed. A sequel with improvements could be exciting
Think of the most unremarkable thing you've ever blended together in a blender. That's Days Gone. It's a strange game in Sony's library of games this generation as one would not expect this from the publisher. If anything Bend Studios deserve another chance to create their magnum opus because Days Gone clearly is not that
Mortal Kombat 11 is a good game ruined by odd decisions. NetherRealm and Warner Bros have pushed consumers into one little corner. Basically "purchase our in-game currency or suffer and grind for hours". That is not fair; it's not fair to the fanbase, the consumers and the franchise. Mortal Kombat deserves better.
Devil May Cry 5 is fun, stylish and sexy. This isn't just the best Devil May Cry game but the best game in the entire Character Action genre.
In the end, 4A Games missed the mark with Metro Exodus. It's disappointing, but in a way, it's a good thing too. It means they still have a lot to learn and Metro still needs to continue growing as a franchise.
SNK Heroines is a soulless and embarrassing game pandering to an audience that doesn't exist. The perfect gift for your worst enemy.
Ace Combat 7 is a visually striking game with a top tier soundtrack and excellent performance. That said the game is challenging and unforgivable for newcomers but an enjoyable experience overall.
Crackdown 3 is a disaster both in presentation and gameplay and fails to move the franchise forward. The game is utterly unsatisfying and lifeless and isn't worth anyone's time.
For a game with such potential Jump Force is a colossal blunder and a rushed mess. The visuals and art style is atrocious, the gameplay lacks any kind of depth, and the animations are horrific. Overall Jump Force is a huge disappointment.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is epic, bold and ambitious. It's a brilliant conclusion to the saga. Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't only the best game in the series but the best Square Enix game since Final Fantasy XII.
Resident Evil 2 is a solid remake with great visuals and satisfying gameplay. Having said that this remake suffers from a disappointing soundtrack.
Onimusha: Warlords has aged poorly, and this remaster does not add anything new to the table. Not recommended
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is a bland and unambitious game and overall a disappointing start to the new year
Tales of Vesperia has aged like fine wine. It's an excellent JRPG with a fantastic cast of characters, and a must buy for fans of the genre.
My Hero One's Justice is a disappointing game and doesn't do the anime justice
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a brilliant game with a significant amount of content and is one of the best games of this year.
Octopath Traveler is a decent game with breathtaking visuals but has a dull battle system with a set of uninteresting characters.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a good game but doesn't do much to differentiate itself from other JRPGs. The visuals are fantastic, but the uninspired battle system and disappointing soundtrack bring down this game significantly.
Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight is a gorgeous game with good music but lacks the charm and effort the Persona games usually have
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight lacks the charm and effort the Persona games usually have. It's the weakest Persona game to date.
