A local two player run isn’t going to save 8DAYS from the mid table mediocrity that it’ll find itself in for the vast majority of gamers. If it wasn’t so damn annoying and completely irritating, then I’d happily be gifting it a bigger, better score, but the truth of the matter is that many will find too much they dislike for it to ever be a fun little title. And that’s a shame, because it could well have been pretty damn neat.
Whilst an entire playthrough of Spheroids will only take you four or five hours tops, and nothing put in front of you is likely to test any of your gaming skills, you’ll probably still enjoy the mindless ball popping mayhem that it brings – whether or not that statement says more about me and my gaming ambitions though is another matter. There are issues – most notably with the ‘shop’ which is fairly pointless, but should you be looking for a fairly cheap, simple playthrough and a whole ton of achievement gathering in the process, then you could do worse.
How will Moon Hunters be remembered? As a game that tries new tricks, but fails to ever really pull them off.
Defunct isn’t a game that must be played, and the damn camera and poor audio don’t ever breed much confidence. But underneath the issues is a fun little title that is just begging to get out.
F1 Manager 2022 is certainly a decent effort; a well-worked management experience that does a lot right - Frontier must be applauded for that. But move away from the stats and you find a numbers-powered management game that just falls short of those higher podium steps.

Seeing past that though, and it is most certainly an addictive little well paced game – but only really for those who wish to go cheevo hunting in the process.
At the end of the day, if you were one of those who loved gaming back in the day, then you’ll enjoy what Rad Rodgers brings. It’s not the best platformer out there, but it’s still fun and will let you kick back with a huge smile on your face. Unfortunately you may begin to find that grin slowly turning to a grimace as the confusion and lack of direction in the latter levels takes hold.
Don’t expect to be blown away, but should you fancy spending sometime with a reflective puzzler, then Samsara will get you thinking.
Vesta is a lovely little story-filled puzzler that is powered by humour and brings enough thought as to why, what and when at all times. It’s not the most perfect game, and slight control issues, a repetitive soundtrack and massive save problems put a downer on things, but it’s still worth taking a shot at.
Dimension Drive is fluid at all times, fast when it needs to be, and clever enough to be able to integrate in the unique dimension hopping feature to ensure that it is something many fans of the genre will want to get hands on with
By all means jump into the world of Billy and his nightmares, but you should be aware that the difficulty and horrible screen shake that is on offer may just be seeing you losing some sleep of your own.
Negative space is a thing. And it can be pretty good too. Sometimes.
With beautifully bright, hugely abstract visuals, a pumping soundtrack, a superbly well designed menu system and a huge amount of addictive racing across well detailed tracks, LIGHTFIELD is most definitely one that the racers out there should give a go - especially if those racers are more obsessed with bettering lap times than racing actual opponents.
Super Hydorah is sold on the premise that it is a challenging opponent. I have no issues with that – but you need to be sure this is a game for you before you drop that all-important cash!
Gaming is a massive time sink, and Vostock is the biggest of them all. What starts off nice and delightful will eventually turn into a time eating monster.
At the end of the day, Jump Stars hits the party scene with great intentions. If you’re going to play it fleetingly, hitting it once a week or so, then you’ll find it will well suffice. But expect to play it and enjoy it on a more consistent basis and you’ll probably be left a little bored by the repeating aspects.
Use Your Words is a great way of entertaining the entire family for a good couple of hours.
So, Siegecraft Commander. What’s the overall verdict? Well, I absolutely adore the crisp, comedic visuals and I even find the storytelling pretty humorous. The gameplay itself is testing (in a good way), and the overall concept is well thought out. The problem is, that damn control scheme really does take some getting used to – and that’s even after switching away from the horrid slingshot method. Many may just find that the overall repetitive nature that accompanies any game of this type a bit too much to bear, but as a real-time strategic offering, it just about delivers the goods, especially if you can manage to coerce some friends into joining you for the online multiplayer modes.
Bombing Busters is a bit of a blast. The single player side of things works well and comes with a difficulty level that will leave you shouting in frustration. As long as you are prepared to give it a decent crack though, will discover plenty of joy. Drop over to the multiplayer side and you’ll find even more action that is quite easily on a par with everything you get to take in on the solo side.
