Whichever format you choose, a fantastic fun adventure filled with gaming fun awaits. Rarely have we been so surprised by all the imaginative gameplay that constantly replace each other. Not everything hits the spot, but it's still impossible not to be impressed with the big picture.

Off the track, MotoGP 21 builds on what its predecessor did well, even if it's not much news. Out on the track, however, we get renovated and more realistic gameplay mechanics. However, we lack more noticeable improvements now that the series has found its way to a new console generation; much more than higher resolution, more details in the environments and significantly shorter charging times we do not get.

It is frustrating and empty; and yet we'll start over right away. We need to find out what happened, we want to discover more of the unparalleled world, we want to fight even harder against all the vile monsters that stand in our way. The unforgiving arrangement will be a watershed, but for anyone with the slightest interest in sci-fi, Returnal is worth having on the radar.

Oddly enough, much is the same from 1999; you follow a more or less firm path forward and should try to photograph as many pocket monsters as possible before the route reaches its end. Something else that's strange is that it's still really fun. At least for a while. Although the photo adventure is more than twice as long as the original and the gameplay moments have evolved, the whole still feels too thin to delight anyone other than Pokémon fans.

Collect three of history's most acclaimed space adventures and spruce up gameplay and graphics – can it end in anything but success? Yes and no. Because while The Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes over 100 hours of top-notch story and action, some parts are noticeably outdated – with some new bugs. On the other hand, there's nothing to stop Mass Effect Legendary Edition from being the best way to experience an acclaimed trilogy.

What may look like an ordinary Japanese action game soon turns out to be so much more. In addition to battles that are as good-looking as they are tactical, we also get charismatic characters, a captivating story, and a well-developed universe. Unfortunately, both the story and the battles stumble upon themselves at times - and the environments often leave a lot to be desired. But despite the shortcomings, Scarlet Nexus is a surprisingly successful mix of action and JRPG – and a must have for anyone who wants an action game with a focus on story and depth.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game is a collection of sport games that perfectly capture the essence of the old Track ‘n Field series, mixed with the easygoing sport games from 20 years ago. The game is not perfect by any means, and the lack of depth does make it an ill-fit for lone players. But if you are looking for a fun and competitive yet easy to play sports game for both family and friends – this is it.

When Codemaster's acclaimed F1 series makes its debut on the new consoles, it is not the enhanced graphics that make the biggest impact, but a brand-new story mode. An exciting addition, which unfortunately does not reach its full potential. Fortunately, the superb career mode is intact and slightly improved, as are the many options available to those who prefer to play online. Although some content has been removed since last year's version, and a few other issues remain, F1 2021 offers almost everything an F1 fan could wish for.

Intense and challenging battles are mixed with amazing characters that populate colorful and lovingly created environments. The tribute words hail and Hades is worth every single one – although we would have liked to have seen more improvements and news alongside the one-year-old Switch version.

Despite the shortcomings, the World of Psychonauts is worth a visit. Sure, we had hoped for a more refined experience, but there is still a lot to like here – and the noisy fans who have longed for years for the sequel will be pleased.

Tales of Arise is a Japanese role-playing game of classic dimensions. A motley band of young heroes set out to save a world filled with secrets, beautiful cities, fun battles and an exciting story. The technical bit is a bit uneven, the action wobbles a bit and the set-up toughens on in familiar tracks – but for those who want a grand Japanese role-playing game, Tales of Arise is the best in a long time.

Toy cars, delightfully crunchy tracks and high speeds are what await in Hot Wheels Unleashed. Although the variety is different in terms of both race types and the feeling in the vehicles, there is nothing to stop the race from being terribly fun. In its best moments, Hot Wheels Unleashed can even measure up to timeless classics like Ridge Racer 7, Micro Machines V3 and F-Zero GX.

Despite over 20 years on the neck, Diablo II is a regular classic whose gameplay continues to this day. However, this does not make the graphics, which makes it fitting that this restoration lovingly repaints the exterior but leaves most of the inside intact. However, some parts would have been fine with a modernization, and the forced online requirement of unstable services can create great frustration.

Far Cry 6 begins with a strong sequence that is hard to shake off. In the course of the adventure, we get plenty of similar scenes, but also the exact opposite – and everything in between. It creates an incredibly fragmented experience that is difficult to live in properly. But it's actually not quite as bad as it sounds because we are constantly inundated with entertaining, challenging and not least varied chores. Instead, it's mainly unusually many bugs and flawed artificial intelligence that sink Ubisoft's action adventures a notch.

With NHL 22, EA's long-running team finally gets a brand new game engine, providing better physics, graphics, and animations. As usual, we also get a variety of game modes that make most people happy, whether it's realism or party games that attract. What we do not get, however, is a sufficiently refreshed sense of play. The improved physics helps, but does not shake off all the old flaws. That said, NHL 22 is an excellent hockey game, although several long-standing problems still exist.

It's limited, but oh so entertaining. It's a bit sad that the focus on action takes some horror, but at the same time we appreciate that the story and the environments are very different from the previous titles of the anthology.

Call of Duty: Vanguard feels in many ways like a throwback to older Call of Duty titles. There is nothing wrong with stripped-down restarts, but in this case it feels more like time constraints have been the main reason for the simplifications. The single player campaign has few memorable moments, while zombie mode lacks a lot of content at launch. At least the online part offers plenty of content and chaotic, easily accessible high-tempo clearing – but it's not very new under the sun.

Riders Republic is a game with a glued-on attitude, alarmingly many sports and an overplottered world map. Even so, the game surprises great with great control, varied challenges and a world bursting with fun activities. The fact that we are also not spoilt for purpose with well-made ski, snowboarding and cycling games does not exactly make it worse that we get everything in one here.

What we don't get are colorful main characters or an act that grabs us from the start. But if a challenging combat system and a darkly exciting world are more important than tough teenagers to save the world, then Shin Megami Tensei V is the game for you.

Just in time for the holiday shopping season comes a smurf platformer that's much better than it should be. The relatively low budget is certainly noticeable in most things, but the most important parts shine. With charming graphics and as entertaining as it is challenging platforming, it's a colourful adventure that's perfect for the whole family.
