Danreb Victorio's Reviews
I’m glad I gave it a chance.
Ape Out is every bit as fun as it is stylish, which are two features that usually result in a fantastic indie experience, so if you’re even thinking about getting this game, quit monkeying around and do it.
If you’ve never played the game, it’s definitely worth the time and money especially since all the (mostly cosmetic) DLC comes with the package. If you've already played it, I'd be a little bit more hesitant.
Katana ZERO has both substance and flare, making it one of the most enjoyable games of the year, especially if you enjoy your neon colors.
My Friend Pedro is a lot of stylish and silly fun.
Trails series is quite possibly the best modern JRPG series we have today, and Trails of Cold Steel III finally gives us some more, and more is exactly what we needed.
Concrete Genie might go as one of the biggest surprises of the year. The lower price is just a bonus. Whatever amount of success this game finds, Concrete Genie deserves more.
Pokémon Sword and Shield are the most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon game since Pokémon Gold and Silver, which is a statement that should mean a lot to any Pokéveteran.
Kunai is a heck of an experience that’s an easy recommendation especially during this slow part of the year.
CrossCode isn’t just a love letter to the golden age of JRPGs, this German-made gem might actually belong there.
Superliminal is a wonderfully paced, albeit short, puzzler with a heartwarming finish.
The attention to detail so far truly is astounding, and with the debut chapter clocking in at around less than four hours, I can’t wait until the next one.
Trails of Cold Steel IV is to the Trails series what Avengers: Endgame was for the MCU, and I’m both happy and proud that Falcom had me along for the ride.
Super Mario 3D World is about as close to perfect as you can get with a Mario game, and the fact that it features online multiplayer makes it even better, but what really makes the package worth the $60 is the fact that you have one of the best Mario titles with a new game thrown in.
The careful integration of culture mostly through writing and basic level design is really what makes the game really special. I’ve been putting off my first Japan trip for years, and now since I can’t travel, Persona 5 Strikers sort of scratches that itch.
Lost Words: Beyond the Page is a short but enjoyable and heartfelt experience that anybody looking for a chill game to play should try out.
The main thing that makes Doki Doki Literature Club Plus worth anyone’s time is the fact that even four years since its original release, it’s still a shocking and unique experience.
The game also features some extra content to give you a greater feel for its superb cast, so I simply can’t recommend these games enough.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is one of the best looking games you’ll ever play, and if you can find your way around its old-school feel and difficulty, you’ll probably make yourself a fan of Ember Lab and look really forward to what they put out next.
This remake of Live A Live is a project that deserves to succeed, so this is one that JRPG fans at the very least should give a try whether they have already or not.
