198X is a title that oozes with love, care and personality and delivers an experience which many of us can relate to its story. But as I said, that's if we look at it as an experience. Because when we look at it as a game, we can see its flaws and lacks which make it hard for many people to justify purchasing and playing it. If you're after a short, unique and quite relatable experience about video games, you'll most likely going to like this game. But if you're only after gameplay or want a comprehensive story, you won't be pleased with 198X

When considered as a separate and new title on its own, Team Sonic Racing is a really fun game with well-thought team mechanics; despite having some problems. But when compared to previous Sumo Digital racers, it does not have the same amount of charm and polish those games had. Therefore, those who play this game expecting it to be another All-Stars racing will be disappointed

Mortal Kombat 11 is a great fighting game ruined by excessive amounts of grinding and also the bad quality of the PC port. The game itself is masterfully made & very fun to play, but the grind & the always-online requirement have dragged down the overall experience so much that they have drastically decreased its value

One Finger Death Punch 2 is a massive upgrade compared to OFDP 1 and a worthy sequel with better graphics, animations & music tracks, and much more game modes & hidden extras. The game is very fun to play and its sole big problem is that some people won't appreciate the new brawler system

Ape Out is a fantastic audiovisual experience with a gameplay which is easy to pick up and also enjoyable. However, while its length is perfect for a single playthrough, it doesn't offer much to encourage playing more. And the randomness, while offering a fresh & unique experience on each playthrough, sometimes paves the way for unfair situations & deaths

Yakuza Kiwami is a fantastic remake of the original PS2 game. It improves & expands Yakuza 1 to create an experience that is new & fresh for new audiences, while being familiar & nostalgic for the old fans at the same time. Being a faithful remake, Kiwami is not as good as the newer Yakuza titles and seems a bit outdated in some spots; but just like all the games in the franchise, is a blast from start to finish.

After playing JUMP FORCE, I can't shake the feeling that it looks unfinished and/or rushed. At first, it looks fun and the problems look forgivable; but the more you dig deep into it, the more you can see how severely flawed it is. JUMP FORCE is unpolished, unimpressive, repetitive and definitely not a good game to celebrate Weekly Shonen Jump's 50th anniversary with it.

Pikuniku is a short & sweet experience that never takes itself seriously. The game is super fun and cheerful thanks to its gorgeous appearance, well-composed music tracks, delightful gameplay and good sense of humor. However, its short length might leave you wanting more.

The Hong Kong Massacre is another example of how a game's flaws can hold it back, not allowing it to become what it could have been. The game is really fun at its core, but problems like limited gameplay and severe performance issues (on the PC version) have dragged down the overall experience.

Rival Megagun takes the old and mostly forgotten "Versus Shoot'em Up" genre, adds a lot of unique ideas to it, and the end result is a game that is not only accessible for newcomers, but also challenging for veterans at the same time. It's not flawless, but none of those flaws can decrease the amount of fun you can have by playing it.

Gameplay-wise, Override a very entertaining game; especially when it comes to local multiplayer matches. But unfortunately and because of some issues like the lack of content, it cannot convince players to keep playing for a long time

Even with some issues like improper graphical options on the PC version of this remaster, XXL 2 is still an enjoyable experience for the fans of the original game. However, because most of the game's mechanics and features have not aged well, it will most likely not appeal to new audiences

GRIS is a mind-blowingly fantastic combination of art and video games. It doesn't have lots of gameplay time; but in return, and through its incredible combination of visuals, music, and storytelling, it features one of the most beautiful, memorable, and emotional experiences ever delivered in a video game

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is not a bad game; It's fast, fluid and entertaining. But in the end, enjoying it depends on players' taste. If this is your first time trying a fighting game or you don't want complex mechanics, then you will have a lot of fun. But if you prefer technical controls and the same amount of content and quality that was available in the past BlazBlue titles, you will be utterly disappointed.

Lethal League Blaze is a fantastic sequel to an already fantastic game. The numerous tweaks and improvements not only increased the overall quality of the game but have also ramped up the amount of hype and tension in the matches as well. However, while the game has a lot of single player content, most of its fun comes while playing with other people. So gather your family or friends to play and you're definitely going to have a ton of fun

The Messenger is more than a mere homage to games from 80s and 90s and especially, Ninja Gaiden; because through its stunning looks, clever writing, fantastic soundtrack and amazing gameplay, it has created its own identity and turned out vastly superior to all of those titles. It's a quality game that makes you want to get back to it as fast as you can and play more. The Messenger is a must-play and no one should miss it

Despite some problems, Guacamelee! 2 is still entertaining and enjoyable to the end. The game follows the same successful formula as the previous version, and with a series of upgrades, it has become a complete and nearly flawless title that can easily satisfy the fans of Metroidvania genre

Songbird Symphony is a well-done rhythm game with adorable graphical style and animations, ear-catching soundtrack and a challenging gameplay. However, some varieties in rhythm battles, along with a lack of a map for better navigation in platforming sections, might lead to some frustrations; especially for the lesser experienced players in this genre

With 20XX, Batterystaple Games has successfully taken the Mega Man series' formula multiple steps further by adding a series of upgrades and Rogue-Like mechanics. The game looks great, the gameplay is fast and fluid, and although its difficulty sometimes seems insane and, in some cases, even unfair, it's still a fun, exciting, and satisfying title

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a very rich collection of the series' 30-year history. It contains a huge number of games, in addition to a fantastic and high-quality collection of artistic images and designs of the history of this series. However, while it's full of content quantity wise, it lacks quality; and because a series of shortcomings, as well as many problems (especially on the PC platform), it does not have the quality it could've had
