If you’ve never had the chance to climb the snowy mountains of Skyrim, face off against its fierce Frost Trolls, or absorb the souls of dead dragons you’ve bested then jumping into Skyrim Special Edition is a no brainer.
FIFA 18's focus on the art of defending and the long-awaited addition of authentic player styles makes the play experience a joy to take part in.
They say that in space no one can hear you scream. In real life your neighbour can hear your squeals of terror so prepare to explain yourself.
Techland has shown us that they've learned from their past experience with the Dead Island series and given us the first stand out title of 2015.
As reviewers we're always looking for ways to be critical of a game we play. At times I think it's important to throw that out the window just a little bit and I like to ask myself one simple question; Am I having fun playing this? There is no doubt in my mind that the answer to this question is yes.
Need for Speed Rivals is a competent arcade racer that is sure to get the heart rate up with some real 'edge of your seat' cops vs racers action.
All in all Disney Infinity 3.0 marks a return to form that was lost from 1.0 to 2.0. It's nostalgic for the parents while being accessible for the young ones and makes for a perfect 'play games with your kids' situation. When you're marketing some of the most loved IPs of all time it's a shame to let them go to waste with poor gameplay and Disney hasn't forgotten this.
As a 'Definitive Edition' you're getting a buttery smooth gameplay experience, gorgeous graphics and all the extra bells and whistles from DLC to new modes and more but by and large this is the exact same game you played back on your 360 or PS3. The key question to ask yourself is if this new package is worth buying the game again, to which I'd say no it truly isn't. On the other hand if you skipped it last generation is it worth picking up to enjoy this time around? It certainly is.
In the end, I can say that I truly cherished every moment spent playing The Last Guardian but that it came with a heaping dose of forgiveness on things I might not forgive any other game for.
Dishonored was – is – a great game but did it really warrant a re-release for anything more than sucking extra cash out of consumers? In the end the game does still stack up as one of the greatest stealth action games of last generation but unless you missed it the first time around there is absolutely no reason to look at it now. That being said, if you passed up this gem in 2012 you can't go wrong with jumping into it now.
I think that Project Spark takes what other games with creation suites such as LittleBigPlanet and Minecraft started and amplifies it to a much higher level.
With enough content to keep players busy for a long time, and a support plan from Ubisoft that should see the shelf life extend long past just the release window, you'll likely be playing The Division for a while.
Far Cry Primal takes players to an era rarely visited in modern gaming and does so convincingly.
While the difficulty might not be of the calibre that Dark Souls fans clamor for it will challenge most gamers and is an enjoyable, albeit flawed, dark fantasy RPG romp.
As Chapter One rolled to a close I couldn't help but smile wide. Very likely just as wide as I did as that seven year old playing King's Quest: Quest for the Crown for the very first time. Well played, odd gentlemen
As a whole you can't go wrong by including Killzone: Shadow Fall as part of your next gen PS4 package. It might be lacking in true next generation gameplay mechanics but it really shines when it comes to the new generation of graphics. Sony and Guerilla Games will surely continue to develop the franchise and I can honestly say without hesitation that the path they're on is the right one.
The battle with Baba Yaga alone is worthy of the price of admission.
An homage to the amazing JRPGs of the 90s, I Am Setsuna is a love letter to your childhood written with passion and penned with respect by equally passionate developers.
No matter how linear or repetitive the levels are you'll still enjoy taking everything in. Knack manages to be magical regardless of its weaknesses and personally I hope the little relic monster gets another chance to shine in a future title.
Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes is certainly a fun way to sit around and play with your kids but I don't see many adults or more mature gamers getting as much out of it unless they really enjoy the creationary aspects of the Toy Box. While the Toy Box might shine as the best experience that the game has to offer it's unfortunately dulled by how disappointing the play sets are in comparison. The fact is that most players will just want to hop in and play rather than build. Those players will ultimately be left wanting after play set boredom sinks in. Still, it is an improvement over 1.0 and it makes me hopeful for what we might see out of the eventual successor in Disney Infinity 3.0.
