Justin Janitzek's Reviews

A gamer and film maker currently based in the heart of the busy Metro Manila streets with a knack for many esoteric titles. A graduate of the International Academy of Film and Television in Cebu, you could say that Justin spends a good amount of hours calibrating mods and shaders for his games. Gotta get that sweet spot you know.

Since the game deals more with character development and how they cope rather than temporal philosophy, it may or maybe not divide its audience. Even though this is a prequel, I felt that this game should be played after the original for the way it is presented, think of it as bonus content rather than a standalone game.

6.9 / 10.0 - Impact Winter
Jul 7, 2017

It's just too bad that the game was released in this state, otherwise it could've been more reputable to those looking for this kind of genre. Sometimes, word of mouth can break or make a game. In all honesty though, we need games like these, the ones that just say "I'm gonna do my thing, love it or hate it."

4 / 10.0 - Strafe
May 16, 2017

STRAFE as of now feel unfinished, and is too reliant on its successful marketing campaign. If you are an absolute diehard for these type of games, I implore you to look up Brutal Doom instead. It is a free mod that gives the original Doom a bit more oomph and visceral feedback, while changing some of the controls to feel both familiar and fresh.

8.3 / 10.0 - Outlast II
May 13, 2017

For the most part, Outlast 2 ticks all the boxes when it comes to presentation. The story may seems convoluted at first but given enough time and introspection, it can be rewarding. As of now though, the revelations are left to speculations and interpretations.

6.8 / 10.0 - Dead Rising 4
Apr 12, 2017

As you can tell Dead Rising 4 is a flawed experience. Veterans of the series dislike it, a myriad of technical issues (on PC), and a relatively short and lack luster campaign prevents it from being a great game altogether. If, however you can look past its blemishes and just focus on the fun part of the game then you will be rewarded with a giddy smile while getting covered in organic paste. I recommend waiting for a huge sales drop before picking this one up.
