The game looks stunning right down to the tiniest details on the props but there are some things wrong with the game.

This has been a very enjoyable game to play and strongly recommend a play. Even if you’ve never played a JRPG before like me.

Despite the rage it’s caused, I love this game, it’s simple and disorientating and therapeutic and confusing and charming. The game has managed to be a form of distraction from things that I needn’t worry about and I think that’s one of its best features. It can just drag you in and engulf you for hours at a time. But the game never stays the same, the game likes to throw new situations at you, it’s easy to embrace and gives great satisfaction once the sector is cleared.

This game not only is a brilliant game but is also a great introduction into the hacking game genre

So in conclusion, should you get this game. Probably not. Here’s why. The physical copy for Xbox One and PS4 is priced at around £30 and £25 on steam. I just don’t feel that this game is worth that price. The majority of the game comes from its predecessor, Spintires, and the only new content is a new map and 9 challenges that take less than half an hour to complete. Even if the game had been built from scratch I wouldn’t recommend this game as it doesn’t feel polished enough for a game studio, maybe a solo indie developer but not a studio. If you happen to be one of those people who own the original game on steam, you can get the game at half price but I still wouldn’t say go out and buy it right now as it’s still a push to charge that much to me for this game.

Despite the microtransactions, the game is still a lot of fun, the driving is nice and easy to lose yourself in, especially with the varying environments and the open world challenges. Pushing yourself to get those 3 star ratings can be extremely fun, and the story is engaging and looks amazing all the while. I would love to be able to shout at you, screaming, “GO GET THIS GAME”! But it’s just not good enough for that; while I do recommend the game. I can’t say that its worth £50.

To finish things of, I didn’t really enjoy this game. Maybe it’s because I’m not good at strategy games, or the fact that I don’t really enjoy simulations either. But despite coming into this game with an intent to give this the best review I could, it didn’t manage to swing me in the right way. The music in the game I really enjoyed, and the experience was definitely a new one but I don’t think I have the ability to recommend this game. Weather it’s because I haven’t enough experience with this kind of game or because I don’t enjoy this genre as much as others, I don’t know. I shall still give my best attempt to give it a score I think represents the game properly, so…

So to finish this all up, I’m going to say one final time that this is possibly my favourite game of 2018 so far. It holds high esteem in my book. It may have a few problems but I highly recommend playing this game.

Despite the framerate issues, this is a good game that I enjoyed playing. Some of the 2D animations are a little weird but it just adds to the feel of the game. If you’re someone who played this game before and has a burning desire to play it again I’d say go ahead, it will satisfy your desire. Likewise if you’re a fan of VanillaWare games. If you haven’t played it before, however, I would say maybe have a look at the game on the PS3 or Vita; it will probably be a little cheaper.

The game is immensely fun. It has heart and soul but also gives the vibe of not caring how stupid it can be; and while the game has a few flaws, none of them cause the game to have a reason not to be played. So if you haven’t done so (If you haven’t already, why not?) go out, get the game, buy a disk, get it from a digital store, play the shit out of it. If you’ve already got the game, keep playing it. Finished it? There’s always the multiplayer mod.
