The return of SoulCalibur to the current console generation is impressive, versatile and full of action. Through numerous features, Bandai Namco wants to appeal to both, veterans and newcomers, which succeeds for the most part. Even if the extensive history around the Soul Edge knows how to inspire, what remains is a stale aftertaste to the detriment of the new combat mechanics.

Biomutant is an open world role-playing game of a different kind and in a positive sense. Even if you use numerous gameplay elements from other titles and thus appear overloaded at the beginning, the beautiful game world fascinates with its look and its sound. Anyone who can overcome this initial hurdle and come to terms with the narrative weaknesses can expect a refreshing adventure that is worth every minute of the game.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is a successful continuation of the sports series. The new game modes ensure a large portion of games, fun and excitement. This makes it easier to get over the fact that Nintendo is leaving a lot of potential in Adventure Mode. Even that is quickly forgotten when you start with friends in multiplayer. Getting started is easy, but the battle for victory is all the greater.

The campaigns are teeming with nostalgic duels and the variety of available cards and duelists make the hearts of fans beat faster. Nearly 17 years after the original release SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated proves why it deserved a Remake. Not only because all of the original voice actors but also thanks to Purple Lamp Studios, the charme of Bikini Bottom and everyone in it is still there. Besides some smaller technical issues, you can't make anyone wrong with getting this game if you are looking for some fun.

Fire Emblem Engage unfortunately fails to shine like its predecessor Three Houses. The step back to the roots of the series wasn't a bad one at all. Above all, the combat system knows how to inspire thanks to the emblems, the reunion with Marth and Co. was successful. Attack on Titan 2 is a good entry for newcomers. The cutscenes and animations are well made for this genre and also the controls are surprsingly good. Even Spider-Man would be jealous if he'd see someone flying around like this. There is still some variation missing and the enemy AI isn't the best. If you can live with that and are a fan of Warrior-Style Games you can get this without hesitation.

Zombie Army 4 does what it says on the tin! In nine different levels, you send heaps of undead underground, which is child's play thanks to the simple gameplay. What becomes boring solo over time unfolds its full strength in coop. But if you are looking for more variety, you will not find it, because the name says it all: Dead War!

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are a prime example when you play it safe. You stay true to the original game and implement some innovations from previous generations. However, these are not always in favor of the gaming experience, as there is no trace of a challenge. With a realistic setting, The Devil in Me manages to deliver a worthy season finale. The reason for this is the authentic cast, which finds itself in a challenging struggle for survival in the style of Saw. Despite the new gameplay mechanics, the game isn't showing its best technically this time either, especially when it comes to the sound. That's all the more unfortunate, because that's how Until Dawn could have been knocked off the narrative horror throne.

Despite being more than eleven years old, Y’s Origin still provides a fast arcade-fighting system, exciting boss-fights and a huge challenge for achievement-hunter. The old graphics may not meet everyones flavour, but with it’s nostalgic charme, they still manage to win peoples hearts. In short, Y’s Origin is a typical JRPG, that successfully reminisce us about videogames like Terranigma or Zelda: A Link to the Past and the beautiful 16/32-bit era.

Just Dance 2022 does not manage to eradicate the criticisms of its last predecessors either. The all-round package is simply not valued enough for that. Nevertheless, the current offshoot manages to convince on many points. The choreographies are excellently worked out, well thought out and extremely sweaty. Fans can access it without hesitation, but this time also newcomers.
