Mario Party: The Top 100 was such a strong idea, but it unfortunately falls flat as an actual full-priced Mario Party title. I still don't know why this wasn't developed for the Switch instead of the 3DS. With some decent game boards, and a few more minigames, The Top 100 could have been a great party game for the Switch. So despite some short-lived fun moments, this is not a party to go to unless you have some friends along in tow..

Being awoken over and over again after feeling defeated countless times definitely took a toll on me, but once you get to the end, it's all worth it.

4 / 5.0 - Runner3
May 25, 2018

As a fan of other rhythm games on Switch such as Thumper and Voez, Runner3 definitely takes the cake as one of the best that the console has to offer. Choice Provisions has done something special with Runner3; it's a game that might make you want to scream internally over and over again, but at the same time, will make you smile from ear to ear while jamming out when you finally overcome those pesky obstacles.

4 / 5.0 - WarioWare Gold
Aug 6, 2018

While I wish WarioWare Gold had more new than old, it's definitely the ultimate package of microgames that will give any fan of WarioWare something to truly enjoy. There's tons of content here that presents Wario and friends in a shiny new light that – for a series that has always sort of taken the back seat – is much appreciated as a longtime fan myself.

Yoshi's Crafted World is a treat to play and is highly recommended for any Yoshi fan out there, even for the ones who skipped out the most recent entries. Believe me, this may look cute, but Crafted World may fall into being one of the most entertaining and visually appealing games that the Switch has to offer.

4 / 5.0 - Dauntless
Jun 3, 2019

Although it’s a copycat in a lot of ways, Dauntless has its own perks that make it worth checking out for fans of the genre looking for something that’s very low risk to try, familiar, and fun.

If you like other choose-your-own-adventure games like Until Dawn, Life is Strange, and Detroit: Become Human, there’s definitely fun to be had here, but it is a flawed experience compared to other recent efforts.

Iceborne is one of the books and I can’t wait to see what the developers do next for this franchise, because I’m not sure if it can get better than this.

This remake is absolutely charming, stunning, and visually striking, making it one of the prettiest Switch games out there.

There are some shortcomings here and there but if you are a die-hard Luigi’s Mansion fan, you will adore this game. Heck, even if you’ve never played a game in the series and you own a Switch, do yourself a favor and check this one out.

If you’re someone who has not played a Mystery Dungeon game before and are looking for a chill and passive dungeon-crawler to sit back and relax while listening to a podcast or watching a television show, this will work wonders for you.

2.5 / 5.0 - Good Job!
Apr 2, 2020

Good Job! throws some surprises at you in the first hour or two of the game but once you play it for longer than that, it all starts to feel bland and samey. It’s not one of my favorite indie puzzlers on the Switch right now but if you’re someone who wants a quick and silly physics-based game to play with a friend, it’s fine for that but I wouldn’t rush out to buy it.

4 / 5.0 - Ninjala
Jul 7, 2020

At the end of the day, Ninjala is a surprisingly entertaining free-to-play game that doesn’t require players to pull out their wallets to have a little fun. The microtransactions are all cosmetic, free content is on its way to add even more depth, and the visual style just oozes with charm.

4 / 5.0 - Pikmin 3 Deluxe
Oct 28, 2020

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a nice and simple finely-tuned Wii U port that’s perfect for newcomers to jump right into. It’s a charming and enjoyable take on the real-time strategy genre that’s not going to make you bash your head against a wall.

3.5 / 5.0 - Bugsnax
Nov 9, 2020

Bugsnax is an odd and wacky experience that’ll be remembered as the black swan of the PS5 launch lineup, in the best way possible. It highlights PlayStation’s commitment to having a diverse catalog of games at the PS5 launch, and with Bugsnax being free on PS Plus for PS5 players at launch, there’s no reason not to try it if you’re a subscriber.

Even though the difficulty isn't what die-hard fans might be looking for, there's no denying that Monster Hunter Rise is the most accessible title in the series to date. Its systems and mechanics will be confusing for brand-new players at first, but once they really get into it and learn what everything is about, players can look forward to a thrilling and exciting hunting experience with so much content to offer. And with free title updates coming soon from Capcom, there will be even more quests to partake in and monsters to hunt. This isn't the ultimate package that World and Iceborne was, but the compact nature of Monster Hunter Rise feels perfect on the Switch and will definitely serve as a blueprint for future entries.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin doesn't shake the genre up or do anything incredibly unique, but it's a massive JRPG with lots to do. It's a solid entry for the sub-series and is recommended for those looking for a charming title on the Switch that doesn't require much thinking or undivided attention. It's a casual game for the most part, but the back half does provide some epic story moments that are satisfying and worth watching.
