Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is a fantastic JRPG. The expertly-crafted story comes together bit by bit as Stocke and Co. find answers hidden across time. Players will fall in love with the strong cast of heroes and they will come to fear the well-crafted villains.

If you’ve played Borderlands games before and are raring for another go, then rest assured — Borderlands Legendary Collection is an excellent way to re-experience these titles. If you’re new to the series, the compilation is also perfect for an inaugural run (or seven) through each of these lovely games.

Although nothing here is likely to change your opinion on any of the titles, most people who have played these games don't need any convincing. Each game holds up very well and shines behind its own compelling strengths.

9 / 10.0 - Pikmin 3 Deluxe
Nov 7, 2020

Pikmin has not taken off to the extent that it deserves, but Pikmin 3 Deluxe just might change that when paired with Nintendo Switch's software momentum. It's the perfect entry point for the series with a wonderfully balanced campaign that is structured to the player's liking. Challenges are tons of fun, this time slightly bolstered by the additional content from Olimar's Assignment, and Bingo Battle makes for some deceptively fun competitive multiplayer. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a reminder that this game (and trilogy) succeeds at just about everything it tries. If you have not played Pikmin 3, you really, really should, and Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the perfect opportunity.

8.5 / 10.0 - Rogue Legacy
Nov 7, 2018

Rogue Legacy has found a loving home on Switch. If you have played Rogue Legacy before, and want just a bit more of it in your life, a portable version is a great pick-up. If you have not tried it before, the Switch edition is a perfect entry point.

Abylight should be commended for this marvelous porting job, and Heart Machine deserves all of the praise they have received for this magnificent game.

As orders and chaos start to pile up, even Overcooked pros will have their hands and heads full. Surf 'n' Turf expands the original game with a wonderfully challenging few hours of content. A worthy follow-up to a great game–get it. You won't be disappointed.

Burnout Paradise Remastered brings a strong open-world racing playground to Switch. The smart port job means that you can play the game on Switch without any notable technical compromise. The repetitive design might be a bother for some, but the open world’s pick-up-and-play nature is so perfect on a portable system that it’s hard to get annoyed.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania marks a return to form for the series, even if I am left hoping that we receive some substantial content updates in the near future to fill in gaps left from the originals. Fans who need an exact recreation of the originals or require challenge mode multiplayer might want to skip this one or wait for a deep discount, but those who just want to play Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 again or the first time should absolutely pick this one up on Switch, especially if you enjoy playing on the go. While there is still a bit of work to do, Super Monkey Ball is back, and it's a great feeling. I strongly recommend you don't miss out on this one.

Mario Party Superstars ultimately marks a great entry in the franchise, getting back to the basics and building off of the stabilizing force that Super Mario Party provided for the wayward series, while stripping away some other innovations that had found their way into the franchise over the last several entries. This is Mario Party as you remember it – whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. For me, it’s a great thing – the chaotic board game is back in its full backstabbing glory, with arguably the best minigame roster in the series and full online play from day one. In looking to the past, Mario Party Superstars has taken a much-needed step forward for the series.

8 / 10.0 - Windjammers
Oct 22, 2018

The aesthetics in Windjammers make it look and feels like an arcade game old enough to run for Congress, because it is almost exactly that. (It's 24 years old, so ineligible for this year's midterms, but Windjammers 2020 is perfectly viable.) However, this game has my vote because it is just really, really fun. As one of the better head-to-head titles on Switch, it is perfect for some quick rounds when you and a friend have a few minutes to spare. It's also deep enough for longer, more intense sessions. Windjammers is a surprisingly simple yet deliciously fun game, and if it's multiplayer you're looking for, this title belongs in your collection.

8 / 10.0 - Little Triangle
Mar 7, 2018

Little Triangle's single player and multiplayer options would both be worth checking out on their own. Together, they form quite a package. Despite a relatively short adventure, the platforming is fun, challenging, and loaded with replay value. Frenzied multiplayer battles, meanwhile, are almost a bigger draw than the single player. Fans of Duck Game in particular should heavily consider adding Little Triangle to their library. Overcoming a few minor issues in presentation, the end result is an excellent game that is worth a serious look for anyone who enjoys ballistic local multiplayer or intense precision platforming.

Yoku's Island Express is a great game. Combining Metroidvania exploration with pinball gameplay was an interesting decision that paid off big time. Despite its short length, Yoku's Island Express is still a complete adventure, one that is relaxing and an absolute pleasure to take in.

Ultimately, Hyperlight Ultimate is a solid entry in its genre. It is colorful, smooth, difficult, and comes packed with replay value. Unfortunately, it often does become repetitive. If you were not already a fan of the genre, this will not be the game that converts you. Should you be looking for a twin-stick shooter, though, Hyperlight Ultimate is an impressive and affordable title that is absolutely worth a look.
