A magical and fun Animal Crossing-like experience for those who love the Disney Universe, with a quite large amount of activities that does not achieve the same level of depth of Nintendo's masterpiece.

Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139 is not a remake but neither a simple remastered. It's an enhanced version that fixes some of the original game's issues and delivers a bunch of new content, but does nothing to refresh its dated approach to world and quest design.

Princess Peach gives proof of great transforming talent in this her second "solo" adventure. Ten transformations take turns in levels filled with mini-games and secrets. A colorful and fun game marked by a low level of difficulty, which penalizes longevity and targets it mainly at a very young or novice audience.

7.6 / 10.0 - High on Life
Dec 30, 2022

A game written and directed by one of the creators of Rick and Morty could have been a masterpiece, instead turned out to be an interesting and hilarious product only in parts. The gameplay holds up for a few hours but in the long run becomes quite repetitive, fortunately the dark humor that characterizes the entire production manages to lift it up in no small part.

Pac is back with its first PlayStation adventure. This time the yellow fellow must save his family across six worlds, full of danger and (obviously) ghosts. A nice platform game for young and nostalgic players.

7.6 / 10.0 - Evil Dead: The Game
May 18, 2022

Whether you're playing with your friends or alone, Evil Dead: The Game will give you a short but entertaining action-survival experience. Carrying some friends along is a good idea – Ash is still one of the best characters in the horror universe but he can't do everything on his own! As always with multiplayer games, playerbase retention and developer support are going to be crucial aspects in the coming weeks and months.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is still an intruguing survival horror experience with creepy atmosphere and engaging story, but younger audiences may not like its old-style controls and slow pace.

7.6 / 10.0 - Legend of Mana
Jun 22, 2021

Legend of Mana is back on modern consoles after more than 20 years, and it's still quite enjoyable despite some gameplay wrinkles.

7.6 / 10.0 - Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

A new chapter in the long-lasting Nihon Falcom series, that delivers exactly what you expect: classic JRPG experience with outdated tech and gameplay that is still fresh and entertaining.

7.8 / 10.0 - Moving Out 2
Aug 11, 2023

A sequel that improves the gameplay mechanics of the first Moving Out by heading in new directions, and that expands the amount and complexity of the challenges. In some cases, some immediacy is lost, but the fun is guaranteed, thanks also to the possibility of four-player play in both local and online modes.

7.8 / 10.0 - Tin Hearts
May 2, 2023

An atmospherically rich puzzle game with an intriguing backstory and simple but layered gameplay. Too bad about a few too many stumbles on Nintendo Switch and near-zero replayability.

Another nostalgic compilation from Capcom with a robust miscellaneous of arcade games, glued together by a shiny old-school interface and a wide range of visual options. Some of the titles are already available in other collections, but this time each one can be purchased separately.

After nearly 25 years Bandai Namco gives us the opportunity to (re)discover two great classic platform games. A quite good remaster that could have been far better with some extra material, and the addition of the chapters released on portable consoles.

Skyward Sword is still not one of the best Zelda games out there, even after improvements added to this new Switch port, but it deserves to be played thanks to a great cast of characters, a good narrative and some interesting gameplay ideas that Nintendo developed further in Breath of the Wild.

Capcom Arcade Stadium provides a generous bunch of golden-age arcade titles (with a little too much Street-Fighterism), paired with a vast assortment of options and gorgeous presentation.

7.9 / 10.0 - Cookie Cutter
Dec 18, 2023

A fairly classic Metroidvania in its gameplay formula, but artistically above average and embellished with a cast that wouldn't look out of place in an Anime. Some balance issues don't stop it from being a highly enjoyable title and telling a meaningful story that deserves to be listened to.

7.9 / 10.0 - Axiom Verge 2
Aug 24, 2021

A remarkable sequel to one of the best Metroidvania ever made. Despite some minor flaws, Axiom Verge 2 represents a new building block in the fascinating and growing universe crafted by Thomas Happ. Can't wait for the next chapter.

In the first decade of the 2000s, Cing was synonymous with atmospheric adventures and extraordinary gameplay ideas. Two of those now arrive on Switch with a complete graphic makeover and modernized gameplay. Slow pace, plenty of atmosphere and intriguing storylines are strengths of two productions that have kept (quite) intact their charm.

8 / 10.0 - Killer Frequency
Jun 10, 2023

A "radio" horror game in full 80s style. As a DJ you will have to follow the tracks of an elusive serial killer, trying to save his next potential victims and put together the pieces of an impossible puzzle. All while remaining seated at your console... or almost! Brilliant with some minor flaws and multiple endings to lengthen an otherwise poor longevity.

No new features but still one of the most entertaining beat 'em up ever made. If you loved Streets of Rage 4 and River City Girls, this must be your next game of choice.
