The amount of content goes above and beyond, offering much more than the original game ever did. Before The Ghost Survivors DLC, this may have been a 9.5, but now, as an even more complete package, Resident Evil 2 deserves the highest honor as a solid contender for "Game of the Year".
With nearly perfect gameplay and entertaining stories, Full Body will prove to be the perfect blend. If you're a new player or even just a fan of the original, Catherine has never been more worth picking up.
Love, rage, sadness: these feelings can easily take control of your actions, and the game perfectly demonstrates that. It’s definitely necessary to play the first one to get the full impact, but even on its own, this is a strong experience. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece. It’s a game that’s going to resonate with me for a long time, and I’m perfectly okay with that.
If you’ve only been hearing about Hades, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not playing it. The gameplay is addicting and full of variety, and the Greek mythology theme is incredibly enticing. With great performances, fantastic music and an incredible art style, Hades easily ranks high among the best of 2020.
Telling a truly interesting story with lots of depth, the full deck is here, and the Joker is a wildcard. The player’s hand has been dealt, and now they just have to play it; it’s far too late to fold. This is your Batman creating your Joker, and the end result is a completely satisfying experience.
The game plays great and offers plenty of options for players to have the best Super Smash Bros. experience yet. It truly is an ultimate entry in this franchise, earning a rightful place in the Switch's expanding library of games.
When it comes down to it, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne isn't just an expansion. It's an overall improvement to what was already an excellent game. More monsters, more attacks, new strategies and challenges, and new distractions add tons of content to the game. It's easy to lose track of time in Iceborne, as hunts will continue to keep you engaged. If you took a break or even if you never left the New World, Iceborne adds plenty to make the game feel fresh again.
Death Stranding may not be a perfect game, but it’s still a work of art, and we definitely appreciate it. There is so much to say about the game, but we encourage you to play the game and find out for yourself.
Don’t let the short length of the game fool you, Sayonara Wild Hearts is a genuine, heart-filled blast. The music has the potential to send you through waves of bliss and make your spirit soar.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a truly gorgeous spectacle of a platformer. The level design is fantastic and the variety in the gameplay keeps things fresh and invigorating. Gareth Coker’s music sets the mood perfectly, making the experience much more emotional and endearing. The combat keeps things challenging and allows for plenty of experimenting, and really feels like a progression to the Ori formula. Overall, this sequel reaches the bar the original game set, and climbs even further to make an incredible journey.
If you’re looking for a long JRPG experience to satisfy a gaming itch, especially during times of isolation, Persona 5 Royal is the definitive version of an amazing experience. Unleash your rebellious spirit, form your bonds, and take the hearts of the unjust. Your calling awaits.
While Final Fantasy VII Remake isn’t a direct translation of the original, it does an astounding job recreating the experience from the ground up. The music, the characters, and the attention to detail just sucks you into Midgar like never before. Add on the additional story elements and fantastic combat, and you have a real winner here.
While The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners may not be for everyone, it perfectly embodies what VR stands for. This is an exceptionally immersive adventure that truly puts you in its world. Your walker kills feel earned, and your effectiveness is completely reliant on your own physical ability. With a lengthy story for a VR title and incredibly deep gameplay, this is one that’s worth jumping into.
If you’re a fan of science fiction stories, anime, or strategy games, you won’t want to sleep on this one. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a truly masterful accomplishment in the genre and deserves to be recognized.
It may only take a handful of hours to complete, but Astro’s Playroom is the perfect pack-in game for the PS5. Players can get a full experience of the DualSense controller’s capabilities and enjoy a fun platformer to boot. This is really something every PlayStation 5 owner should experience before jumping into any other game.
Overall, Monster Hunter Rise is an incredibly impressive feat. It looks amazing, plays fantastically, and it’s chock full of everlasting charm and replayability. The quality of life improvements far outweigh the sacrifices, and the game is as addicting as it ever was. With a great selection of monsters to hunt, plenty of new features, and new buddies to love, this is quickly rising up to being a new fan favorite. Whether you’re a monster hunting pro or taking your first venture, Monster Hunter Rise is a fantastic game to play for hours on end.
Overall, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a great upgrade to an already amazing experience. The main game is even better with sharp visuals, enhanced performance, and speedy load times. We even get an extra photo mode and a challenging new boss fight that digs deeper into the lore. As for Episode INTERmission, the star attraction, it adds a fun new story to enjoy. Yuffie is a joy to witness, adding a charming ray of sunshine to the setting of Midgar. She gives us a small glimpse of the story’s future, but it seems like it’ll be worth the wait. Hopefully, Square Enix can manage to meet the expectations of fans for the next part.
Monster Hunter: World is filled to the brim with quests, investigations, and several events. Multiplayer is easier than ever and the game offers tons of ways to experience this franchise, be it for the first time or for a series veteran.
FighterZ has a lot of shining moments, and while there are some minor issues, the gameplay and overall presentation easily make up for it.
It’s worth getting the deluxe edition just to experience Farewell, as no fan of Life is Strange should miss it. This short, but sweet bonus episode is truly remarkable in a way that few games can match.
