I write about video games for God is a Geek. I'm a pretty cool guy, just ask my mum.
8.5 / 10.0 - Hitman 3
Jan 19, 2021

Hitman 3 is a satisfying farewell to Agent 47, with stunning locations, and endless opportunities to take out your targets.

7 / 10.0 - MXGP 2020
Jan 14, 2021

MXGP 2020 feels like it was made for those who already enjoy the series. Whilst the gameplay is solid enough, it is often unforgiving, and with little in the way of new modes, you'll likely grow tired quickly.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game - Complete Edition may not be on a par with Streets of Rage 4 and co, but playing with friend makes it a much better experience.

Hong Kong Massacre tries to emulate the adrenaline-fueled romp that was Hotline Miami, but it fails to deliver the same thrilling experience.

8.5 / 10.0 - Among Us
Dec 24, 2020

Among Us is a superb multiplayer game that is great on Nintendo Switch. It's easy to pick up, but difficult to put down.

The general presentation isn't anything special, the responsiveness isn't as tight as I'd hoped,  and the music featured does nothing to make me feel motivated whilst training, however, there's still a solid fitness experience that'll appeal to a lot of people who need that extra push over the Christmas period.

WRC 9 on PS5 adds a new layer to the gameplay thanks to the haptic feedback, with improved visuals that're noticeable from the start.

7.5 / 10.0 - Call of the Sea
Dec 9, 2020

Out of the Blue's debut game manages to pack in some complex puzzles set amongst some beautiful environments, and has a story that keeps you hooked throughout.

8 / 10.0 - Haven
Dec 9, 2020

Playing Haven with someone else feels like the natural way to approach it, but you’ll still enjoy it if you’re playing on your own. It can be a tough game to grind through, especially when scouring different areas that often look the same, but the relationship between Yu and Kay is very relatable. Movement is satisfying, and the combat is simple enough to enjoy. The Game Bakers has managed to build an interesting narrative throughout, and the couple’s own story is just as important and engaging.

6 / 10.0 - Worms Rumble
Dec 4, 2020

Worms Rumble is fun at times, but with server issues and some weapons being overpowered, there are problems that need addressing or else people will fall off it too quickly.

8 / 10.0 - Phogs!
Dec 4, 2020

PHOGS! is a puzzler aimed at those who want a fun escape and a chilled out experience, but also welcomes them to a place filled with happiness, charm, and comfort.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an excellent adventure with challenging and intricate puzzles, a wonderful combat system, and a rich world ripe for exploring. The dialogue is funny, poignant, and thrilling, with a story that explores every facet of the human condition in a way that is relatable for everyone.

Katamari Damacy REROLL is a great puzzler, with one of the weirdest concepts of all time. It still holds up on today's consoles, but the visuals are still a far cry from what you may be used to sixteen years later.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate on PS5 is a perfect version of a magnificent fighter. The new characters are a great addition to the already beefed-up roster, and the visuals are top notch.

8.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K21 Next-Gen
Nov 25, 2020

NBA 2K21 on PS5 offers a big improvement to gameplay, and whilst the inclusion of The W is great, The City needs more time to grow. Gameplay is superb when not in The City, and the combination of MyLeague and MyGM is a welcome change to a flagging mode.

9.5 / 10.0 - DiRT 5
Nov 25, 2020

The improvements to the handling, performance, visuals, and sound make DIRT 5 on PS5 the ultimate version of the game. If you're still on the fence about getting it, you're missing out.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure features some great platforming across gorgeous levels, with plenty to do and collect along the way. The music is a lovely touch to a rich and fulfilling adventure, and playing with others is the best way to enjoy it.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory takes a stripped back look at the story of the series whilst putting the fantastic music at its core, although the timing issues can effect the enjoyment of revisiting the past.

Whether you're buying Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for the campaign, multiplayer, or Zombies, there's so much to enjoy, with great handling, cross-progression, and much more.
