Remaking a game as emblematic as System Shock isn't an easy task, Nightdive commited to the important details to make the game shine for new audiences. In an effort of keeping everything almost intact and try to update it for this new generation (and consoles) some elements feel more outdated than it should or that came out short compared to other games in this day and age.

Unscored - Gears Tactics
May 11, 2020

Gears Tactics is a great addition to an already great franchise. For better or worse, the game makes some mechanics friendlier compared to other tactical games like XCOM.

Unscored - Sakura Wars
May 4, 2020

The new Sakura Wars game is some kind of reboot. Even if does have some great ideas, its combat leaves a lot to be desired compare to its conversation mechanics.

Unscored - DOOM Eternal
Apr 9, 2020

Eternal is better, faster and stronger than the 2016 game, but also feels like it tries to do too much in an effort to improve the shortcomings of the first game. That being said is great that they took the story a little more seriously and also brings new ideas for the future of the franchise.

Paper Cult newest game is violent, frenetic and fantastic. Every level feels like a puzzle that sometimes feels limited due to some levels feel like there's only one solution possible reducing the mechanic testing by the player.

Unscored - Blazing Chrome
Jul 16, 2019

Joymashers newest game is a good exercise on using nostalgia as an inspiration, but not directly copy it. Blazing Chrome takes a lot of games like Contra III and Metal Slug, but also includes mechanics from newest games so it doesn't feel just like a clone of other successful games.

Unscored - Weedcraft Inc
Apr 20, 2019

Weedcraft. Inc is a game with interesting ideas but most of the time it feels like it wants to bit more that it can chew. Is an interesting insight in the world of Marijuana and how can work as a sustainable business model in the near future, but also show us how boring the bureaucracy can be.

Unscored - Tropico 6
Apr 16, 2019

Tropico 6 remind us of how absurd these “god games” can be. The game acknowledges the silliness of its premise and in a way becomes the reason why the game works so well, using it as a way to give some sense in everything we do “El Presidente”

Unscored - Baba Is You
Apr 3, 2019

Baba is You show us, what's possible in puzzle games. Not only is an exercise in breaking the mold of a genre, but also a new and creative way to make us understand the underlying mechanics and then show us that it can be even harder. Without a doubt, Baba is You is one of the best games this year.

Unscored - APE OUT
Mar 13, 2019

Ape Out is a sort of a Beat'Em Up filled with some Jazz and a lot of Violence. For some people can be a little short but after using soldiers as human shields or just throwing them to the walls stays as a fun and quite interesting experience we don't see that often.

Unscored - Hitman 2
Dec 17, 2018

HITMAN 2 improves everything the first season did well and take it a notch higher. Now we can't consider HITMAN a stealth game, but is more of a puzzle game with a lot... accidents that can happen at any place at any time.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is not only a great uncharted game, but also a great way to show us that there's much more ideas to explore without Nate Drake, although the game plays the same as every other in the franchise so if you're not a fan, this one won't change your mind.
