Dan Rizzo's Reviews
It’s ironic, but not a coincidence that we experience a title, tailor made for handheld hardware make a solid return for Nintendo’s newest piece of kit. The charming, and nostalgic world of Zelda returns with this incredible adventure, proving that the franchise itself, will remain timeless with Link’s Awakening being one of the greatest entries ever.
While it’s gameplay may not stand out as anything unique, it’s a lot of fun. Learning how to pull off a one-two-three punch/kick combo, allotted with an awesome finisher is such a gratifying feat that ultimately displays how a combo string should really be delivered. River City Girls is unmissable, and is one of the best arcade based experiences this year.
It’s violent, it’s gorey, it’s bloody, and story intense. It boldly delivers an emotional investment that will certainly surprise the hell out of gamer’s who decide to experience it. I for one implore any fans of any third person shooters to play Gears 5, it’s damn sure a hell of a good time. Gears 5 has Game of the Year potential written all over it, and will surely be remembered as XBOX One’s best of the best.
Catherine: Full Body will have everyone talking, from it’s incredibly vibrant yet gritty design, it’s fascinating tale of love, devotion, lifestyle, and deviancy. It’s risk/reward style of prodding it’s own audience into making conscious decisions, and it’s impeccable style in anime-like scenarios, that mix well with it’s incredibly challenging gameplay. Catherine: Full Body is no nightmare, but a dream come true for devoted fans of the original, and truly a welcoming experience for new fans, alike.
With such an engrossing experience ready to be played right in the palm of your hands, it’s a bite sized tale that only will cost you a two cups of coffee (That’s around about $13 bucks, right?). Erica is highly recommended and essential gaming, for casual and experienced gamers alike, and would definitely be considered one of the best surprises Sony Interactive Studios have presented us this year.
Streets of Rage 4 has re-awoken from its elongated dormancy. In its inspirational comeback to prominence, the beat ’em up brawler has made an admirable effort in reaffirming the genre as a staple of the current gaming climate.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is an incredibly ambitious approach to an already established series. Deviating from the beat ’em up genre was a bold risk SEGA were willing to take, especially heading into the next generation.
it's indeed the full harvest. It defies everything we know about the commonplace Anime video game, and exceeds all expectations from gameplay, presentation, narrative and character growth.
Demon's Souls is an incredible retelling of a classic, and is no doubt an essential; if not a Game of the Year contender in 2020.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is not only essential for PlayStation 5 but it very well may be a Game of the Year contender, in 2020.
For Mythology’s legacy to be cemented, and for an impending doom to be put to rest, Immortals Fenyx Rising outperforms and outclasses many action-adventure titles released this year. With that said, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an essential for all gamers, especially those whom have brandished themselves with brand new hardware. A Game of the Year contender.
After years of begging developers, publishers, outlets and artists, we finally have it in our hands once again. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is essential gaming.
The proposition of counselling a marriage with an unworldly trip within the confines of their own home, from the perspective of two miniatures is confounding, but It Takes Two has managed it with great consideration and reverence. Again, separation is a touchy subject along with conflict, but It Takes Two has astoundingly enveloped a stand-up story for a struggling duo that seeks appeasement and resolve.
Pertaining a semblance to its Yakuza roots while its disparities demonstrated a distinguished difference was appreciated, and I hope to see more Judgement, with the potential of an impending announcement soon to come. Judgment on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X, is truly an essential for thrill seekers and third-person exploration conessuirs.
Lost Judgment is essential gaming this year. Packed to the brim with intensity, and engaging sequences that will leave you floored upon completion. The sensitive themes addressed here will leave players shook, and somewhat perturbed but unequivocally entertained to say the least.
The terrifying auspice of Dead Space’s undying legacy now lives through Motive’s reprisal, and without question raising the bar for many to follow suit. An essential experience for any fan of the survival horror genre, Dead Space is a must play for any and all.
Tekken 8 is flawless, and should be heralded as a grand achievement for the long-running fighter, a literal groundbreaking push for future entries that will surely improvise from its example of excellence.
From its incredible detail, conceptual design, enchanting aesthetic, charming appeal, and awesome narrative, you can always include this series in the same conversation with the best-of-the-best in platforming today. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is essential gaming.
From its initial reveal, to its stunning redesign, its core gameplay and improved physics, right down to every bit of detail that remains faithful. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is an essential experience for any Pokemon faithful, and one they will treasure for years to come.
Without it, we would not see the success stories of many major modern hack and slasher’s such as Bayonetta, Dynasty Warriors, Darksiders, Castlevania, No More Heroes, God of War, Heavenly Sword and many others. Devil May Cry 3 is still the staple of the hack and slash genre, and will remain one of the greatest action games of all time.
