Dragon's Dogma 2 offers an experience with both dated and innovative elements. Some controversial choices, such as those on saves and fast travel, clash with modern standards, but in terms of gameplay and artificial intelligence it is one of the best titles of recent years. The story, on the other hand, remains rather anonymous and unmemorable, but if you are looking for a challenging game that will surprise you between exploration and creativity, then you need look no further.

CyberConnect2's new game feels like a missed opportunity, with a lazily built Naruto story mode and identical gameplay to the past games. Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is the worthy conclusion, narrative-wise, of the SAO Gamerverse, with continuous twists and turns and the presence of many memorable characters. Unfortunately, on a gameplay level the many mechanics introduced are of little use, and even on a technical level it doesn't impress, also presenting several quality-of-life flaws. It is in all respects a title to be played solely for the plot, dedicated to those who enjoyed the previous chapters.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the perfect entry point for newcomers to the series, while at the same time winking at veterans with constant references and familiar situations. Also outstanding are the design and gameplay twists on historical characters, as well as the novelty of the Kameo successfully paving the way for new strategies and mechanics. An excellent fighting game, recommended both to fans and to those who want to approach the saga for the first time.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon marks the grand return of a saga that had been missing for way too long. LEGO 2K Drive is a colourful, fun and light title, as well as a pleasant surprise. SIFU is a tough and unforgiving experience, but it's also capable of being highly rewarding. It highlights the authors' love for action movies such as John Wick or The Matrix, thanks also to several references found in the new Arena mode, which further extends an already excellent longevity. If you feel like putting yourself to the test and do not fear a rather high level of challenge, it's definitely recommended.

WWE 2K3 picks up from the base thrown in last year without disrupting anything, but going on to improve several details. The John Cena-dedicated Showcase mode is interesting and varied, just as the two new My Rise stories come with more narrative care. MyGM and MyUniverse are perfect for simulation fans, while MyFaction brings FUT-style online competition for the first time. Too bad just for the dated technical compartment, but it still remains a must-have title for wrestling fans.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! feels more like a remaster than a remake, with an updated technical aspect but not up to modern standards and with the major novelty, Troops, proving to be far too invasive. At the same time, though, the game represents the end of an almost 10-year-long wait for one of the missing chapters in the series, thus turning out to be an almost obligatory purchase for any fan and for newbies alike, as it doesn't require any prior knowledge of the series.

One Piece Odyssey is a turn-based JRPG that mixes a classic formula with some new elements. While not a masterpiece, it offers a nice breath of fresh air for licensed anime games. Gotham Knights has a lot of potential which, however, stays partly unexpressed: the fights suffer from a lower physicality compared to the previous Arkham titles and even the city traversal appears less convincing, while a graphics performance mode would have helped in the most frantic action scenes. It however remains a game capable of entertaining and highly recommended to fans of the Bat-family, mainly thanks to a good story that manages to keep us glued to the screen.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is more than just a remaster, with many new contents and meaningful gameplay improvements with more technical fights and the 60 fps frame rate. Too bad we can't say the same about its online multiplayer gameplay, which can feel almost unplayable due to the delay-based netcode. All in all, this would be an advised buy only if you're planning alone or in local multiplayer.
