5.8 / 10.0 - I Saw Black Clouds
Mar 30, 2021

I Saw Black Clouds feels like a step backward in Wales Interactive's interactive movie efforts. Abrupt scene cuts without any transitions, localization issues, and not-so-good movie direction and photography don't make it live up to the good standards set by The Complex.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage tells a coming-of-age tale that takes too long to get off the ground, spending far too much time on slow dialogue and not too engaging scenes. The nostalgic element and the general story are appealing, but we feel the lack of a greater element of interactivity or a different rhythm in the narrative. I suggest waiting for the release of the second part of the story, so as to better evaluate a possible purchase and enjoy the whole story without interruptions.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora features a lush and visually stunning world with very satisfying tactical combat; unfortunately, the anonymous and forgettable story is unconvincing, while the gameplay is undermined by a problematic mission design that can often make our experience frustrating.

Bright Memory: Infinite is an interesting production primarily thanks to its combat system, which successfully mixes firearms, melee attacks and the use of powers, aided by an undoubtedly powerful visuals, albeit in a linear and static world. The rambling and quickly forgettable story and the extreme brevity of the experience, though, don't make it easily recommendable to everyone.

7.3 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 2, 2023

Redfall offers satisfying gameplay, with the classic flavor of Arkane games especially when played in co-op thanks to the synergy between the different heroes' powers, but overall it fails to fully convince due to a series of technical problems, dated game design, and an uncompelling plot. Still, it remains a good opportunity for intense online games among friends, hoping that future patches will solve at least part of the problems encountered.

7.3 / 10.0 - John Wick Hex
Dec 13, 2020

John Wick Hex tries to put us in the shoes of John Wick, but it succeeds partially in this: while the timeline-based gameplay is great to make us experience all the choices John faces every single second during a fight, we've got too few tactical options. The clunky animations don't help to reproduce the trademark fights choreographies, too.

7.5 / 10.0 - Blades of Fire
May 24, 2025

Blades of Fire is a demanding action-adventure shaped by MercurySteam’s distinct style: rich worlds, deep systems, and thoughtful combat centered on its excellent weapon-forging mechanics. However, cryptic objectives, confusing level design, and an unremarkable story can frustrate. Despite these flaws, its strong identity and rewarding progression make it a worthwhile journey for patient players seeking a unique, handcrafted challenge.

7.5 / 10.0 - Dustborn
Aug 14, 2024

Dustborn is a narrative adventure that starts very slowly but eventually captivates you with an intriguing plot and characters that you will grow increasingly attached to. Despite some slower parts, it keeps itself fresh and interesting by mixing different types of gameplay and a wide variety of settings. Even if it doesn't have what it takes to sit next to the top titles in the genre, if you love this kind of adventure it will keep you entertained for many hours.

Still Wakes the Deep is a good narrative adventure that immerses us in the horror of a realistically reproduced oil rig, but it fails to create high levels of tension in the player. Thanks to the good story, the interesting cast of characters and the excellent original voice acting, it remains an excellent first-person adventure that fans of the genre should not miss.

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is a good action-platformer with a great emotional impact, but it smacks of a wasted opportunity due to a too light approach to metroidvania mechanics and some problems with the controls. It however remains an enjoyable experience for fans of the genre.

7.5 / 10.0 - Stray
Aug 16, 2023

Stray is a charming 'cat adventure' that succeeds in making us identify with the little feline protagonist and in making us experience its beautiful from the point of view of this agile creature. The interesting story could have had a better ending and some sections are a little too tiring or repetitive, but if you like original and different titles, and especially if you love cats, this is definitely a game to try.

7.5 / 10.0 - South of the Circle
Jul 30, 2022

South of the Circle is a fascinating and engaging adventure that will succeed in captivating lovers of narrative and emotionally charged experiences, as long as it's seen as "just" an interactive movie whose path cannot be altered, but in which we can alter the emotional nuances and small details. This and the excellent art compartment definitely make it recommendable for those looking for a good story to experience and relax in front of the screen.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Forgotten City
Jul 30, 2021

The Forgotten City turned out to be an amazing adventure, with a very well conceived story and an original use of the time loop mechanic. Too bad for the lack of Italian localization, which will prevent the non-English speakers from enjoying the title.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Falconeer
Nov 8, 2020

The Falconeer delivers a solid and gratifying aerial combat experience withing an intriguing and mysterious world. While its RPG component feels underdeveloped and characters end up being too anonymous, it's definitely a game to try for lovers of the genre.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an ambitious RPG that, despite technical flaws and clunky mechanics, captivates with a dark, atmospheric world, an intriguing reimagining of Arthurian legend, and exploration reminiscent of genre classics. While imperfect, it offers hours of fun for fans craving a new The Elder Scrolls–like adventure.

7.8 / 10.0 - Eternal Strands
Jan 27, 2025

Despite some design flaws, budget limitations, and insufficient localization, the great world-building work and physics-focused gameplay make Eternal Strands a game worth trying out, especially given its Game Pass inclusion; we wish for it to be a success, so to create the basis for more investment for a sequel that will be able to fulfill the great ambitions of the Yellow Brick Games team.

7.8 / 10.0 - Marvel's Avengers
Sep 13, 2020

Marvel's Avengers nails plot and characterization, giving us an absolutely lovable Kamala Khan and delivering some stunning and single-player missions. Where the game disappoints is in the many co-op missions, which feel too repetitive and uninteresting, and in a bit too many bugs. The end result is a mixed bag between a great single-player third-person action-adventure and a disappointing GaaS experience.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind surprised us with a very satisfying and well-thought-out "time rewind/record" mechanism that makes us feel like a real gang mastermind like Tommy Shelby was, perfectly orchestrating and timing all our companions actions. Some controls might have been better refined, but it's definitely a game to try, even for people who never watched the TV series.

South of Midnight is a fascinating journey into the magic of the Deep South, among beautiful scenery, strange characters and game mechanics that, while not inventing anything, are fun and engaging. The art department, both visual and audio, is phenomenal, while something could have been done to improve combat and the story pace, but it's nonetheless a game that all lovers of the action-adventure genre should try.

Mediterranea Inferno offers us a narrative experience with a low interaction level but with an extremely interesting and meaningful story, enriched by an evocative artistic compartment. It is not for everyone due to both its classic visual novel structure and its themes, but if you have the right sensibility for this type of work, you cannot miss this fascinating contemporary novel.
