If you were a big fan of Destiny 1, were disappointed by vanilla Destiny 2, but have it in you to give the series one last shot by trying Forsaken, I believe that you'll walk away being happy you did. It surpasses even the high bar that The Taken King set for great Destiny expansions.

4.5 / 5.0 - Madden NFL 19
Aug 14, 2018

Overall, Madden 19 once again is an incredibly complete package and is among the best sport sims you can play currently. Longshot surprises with a solid (although a bit unbalanced) second effort, MUT, Franchise and gameplay as a whole all received worthwhile additions, changes, and improvements, and together it makes Madden 19 worthy of a buy regardless of what you play it for.

If you're a hardcore fan of the original, Sonic Mania Plus is an easy buy. It adds on neatly onto your original game (no need to start all over), and will extend your playtime at least another few hours if not more.

If peak performance is your #1 concern – which is fine considering how damn pretty Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy looks on PS4 and Xbox One – then maybe you should skip the Switch version.

All in all, Mario Tennis Aces offers up plenty to keep single players busy, but playing with friends takes everything the game does well up a big notch. It was so much fun playing 2v2 doubles with the Twinfinite staff in preparation for review.

Now that we're a month into Warmind's release, the question of whether it holds up largely depends on the kind of Destiny player you are. If the recent reveal of Forsaken has you itching to play Destiny 2 again, and you're not already roped into the Season 1 expansion pass anyway, then sure, grab Warmind as it will give you access to more events to keep you busy over the summer.

1.5 / 5.0 - Agony
May 29, 2018

All of the problems above spoil what little Agony does right, and as a result, it's hard to recommend Agony to anyone. The only people who should consider Agony are people that want a truly hardcore, even at the expense of enjoyment, survival horror game that will put your patience to the test.

We're starting to run long here, and that's because Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is such a huge game that one review that wants to remain reasonably sized in terms of word length is going to have a hard time getting to everything. So let me leave you with this: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire rises well above the typical role-playing fair, and will provide an unforgettable experience for those that are willing to put the time to fully embrace what it is offering.

The questing isn't anything to write home about it seems, but it's still a fast-paced, free-to-play MMORPG, that is genuinely fun to play thanks to its dynamic combat.

MLB The Show as a franchise could easily let itself crumble due to the non-existent competition, but it hasn't and it's continuing to chug along. The improvements this year are great, but depending on your tastes may not be applicable.

It would take a monumental effort to make a Kirby game “un-fun.” Kirby Star Allies isn't ruined because of the allies mechanic, it still functions as an enjoyable Kirby game.

4 / 5.0 - Surviving Mars
Mar 15, 2018

Ultimately Surviving Mars is a fantastic simulation and strategy game. Again, it might be off-putting inexperienced players, and advanced players will likely need to find their own fun in the long term by creating obstacles for themselves to overcome or to seek out mods, lest it gets repetitive.

It's disappointing because the foundation is there. I can't help but feel that there just wasn't enough time to fully flesh this expansion out.

What it comes down to is: Do you like Steep? If you haven't played Steep and you're intrigued by Road to the Olympics because you're a fan of the winter games or whatever the case is, definitely read our review of the base game first. It's not going to be for everyone.

If this sounds pretty grim so far, I want to back it up a little. Despite how negative I sound to this point, Super Lucky's Tale isn't a bad game.

Trying to top some of the legendary 3D Mario games of years ago is a nearly impossible task. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is the grandest and best Mario adventure to date.

Despite some noticeable issues, South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a must-play for fans of South Park. There's no experience like playing through a massive episode of South Park where the hero of the story is you. The superhero angle really lands, and is an excellent wrapping for the story this time around.

4 / 5.0 - A Hat in Time

A Hat in Time is an incredible effort and delivers on its promise of being a worthwhile return to the 3D collect-a-thon platformer genre. It tugs at the heartstrings and delivers all those nostalgic feels.

4.5 / 5.0 - Madden NFL 18

Last year, I said that Madden NFL 17 was refined, yet was lacking something. Something that could shake the series up. Well, this year they took a gamble with Longshot and it paid off.
