Canari Games delivered a little gem of a video game. Its obvious LUNARK was crafted with love and respect for everything that's been done in the genre before. It's visually stunning, very easy to jump in and the platforming phases offer plenty of variety. While one could say it’s a little bit short, I prefer saying the game doesn’t get unnecessarily long. When I will think back on the year 2023, LUNARK will definitely be high on my list of games I've really enjoyed.

If we have to place Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in the Team Ninja games, I would say that it is below both Nioh but still a good quality game. The game offers good dynamics, plenty of action, respectable but frustrating co-op at times and a good challenge. It is less complete than what Nioh 2 had to offer. But this will not displease those who thought that the previous Team Ninja game was still complex. Frankly, you won't be disappointed if you liked what they did before. For the rest of you, it's best to get properly informed before taking the plunge.

I could just ask you if you liked the first Octopath Traveler and if you did, you will like the second one. But that would be doing an injustice. To those who didn't get a chance to do the original title, you can do the second one without concern. But to those who have already done it, there are still minor adjustments that enhance our overall experience. The soundtrack is boundlessly generous, the day/night cycle is welcome and, let's face it, each character's storyline is more interesting. At the risk of repeating myself, you can't change a winning formula. But you can certainly tweak it a bit. And that's exactly what Square Enix has done successfully.

If I had to sum up White quickly, I would use the following words: easy, short, scenery and calm. Is that positive? That's up to you. Because an easy game is not necessarily a bad thing, and neither is a short game. Personally, White is one of those games that are quickly forgotten for the reasons I mentioned earlier. But if you have a young audience at home, I consider the game a good starting option. It gives you a good introduction to many aspects of the video game world. But that's probably the only good reason to get White.

Wanted: Dead is first of all a violent and completely ridiculous game, but it's a game that is completely self-assured. But it is also very difficult which makes it inaccessible for many people. However, if you are one of those people who are always looking for a challenge, this game could probably fulfill your need. But only if you are able to get past its camera problems as well as the small picture slowdowns here and there. It's a shame because the game was promising in its genre. But in the end, we end up with a game that is at most correct.

SEASON: A Letter to the Future offers a peaceful and uncomplicated experience. The game only asks us to take some time for ourselves and enjoy the present moment. The scenery and sounds are beautiful. But as soon as we look closer, we notice the shortcomings of the game. The controls are far from perfect. The dialogues rarely make sense. And some might find the game a bit repetitive on what we have to accomplish. The game won't be remembered, but it might allow many to take a break from their tumultuous lives. And this is a more than positive point.

River City Girls 2 takes the series to the next level. More frantic fights and devastating combos, the game is a real improvement. The soundtrack is wonderful and you really have a good time. But we won't lie, the game is still expensive and suffers from loading, at least for the version on Nintendo Switch. If you're considering getting it, you might want to consider another version. Unless you don't mind. But know that having tested it on another console, the game probably would have deserved an extra half point. The fact remains that River City Girls 2 is a lot of fun, whether you're playing alone or with your buddies.

What Fika Production has achieved with Ship of Fools is far from obvious, namely to reinvent itself in a genre that has taken a lot of space in the last few years. The game will catch you by its presentation as well as its frenzied rhythm during the games. If you can play it with two people, it's even better. But the adventure itself is worth the effort if you like roguelike games. And that's good because I love it. If that's the case for you, there's no reason not to fall in love with Ship of Fools!

Tactics Ogre: Reborn pays an excellent tribute to a game that is seen as a reference of the genre. Square Enix found ways to make its title more approachable which is great for newcomers. Although the fights can be very long, the game remains to this day one of the best TRPG. Yes, they could've done a lot more, but it's already a big step in the right direction.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 returns the series to its former glory. I pretty much disliked Vanguard, but this one does much better. We totally understand why the community is so passionate and critical about this new release. After all, Activision delivers bestsellers year after year and, in our opinion, this one will be no exception.

One positive point: the game is really of a higher quality than its predecessor. I had a lot of fun in my Star Ocean: The Divine Force journey and I believe that is the ultimate goal. Granted, the game is far from perfect but this series never was. If you stick with the story, you will definitely enjoy it as well as the personality of the characters, because the writing is so good. Unfortunately, I've also strained my eyes more often than I care to admit. For the role-playing enthusiast, I believe it deserves your attention.

Shovel Knight Dig is a great little game. Small in length but big in quality. It's easy to start a game for a few minutes and come back to it later. It's also easy to lose yourself in a couple of more minutes of gameplay. Once again, a great success from Yacht Club Games that we highly recommend.

The game itself will speak to a very niche group. Because, as everyone knows, metal music is not the most popular thing in the world. But for those who like it, I can tell you that you will have a great time. The game is still short for its price but the interest is always to improve your score in this type of game. This makes it possible to come back to it more than once. And it allows us to know the lyrics of the songs and to appreciate the artists. Lots of headbanging to be expected!

Nobody Saves the World is exactly what I've come to expect from a DrinkBox Studios game and more! The game is completely surreal with absurd and ridiculous humor. Even after completing it I want to go back and start a new game. Especially since I didn't mention it but the game offers co-op! I just need to find a friend with a sense of humor as twisted as mine and the developers...

Blossom Tales 2 is a good game, but it won't shine since others took the exact same approach and delivered a better experience. However, it could be a good starting point to those new to the genre or a great option for those that beat all the other games of this style and ask for more. Despite its very affordable price, it comes short in innovation to really stand out.

It's a narrative game from start to finish with very little interaction required of you. And when they do come, the various choices will not change the result at all. However, the story is intriguing and will keep you hooked until the end and the visual style is sublime. It would be nice to say a lot more about the game but in all honesty, there is not much to add. The game ends rather quickly (about 3 hours) and whether it's your time of game or not, is entirely up to you. As for me, I recommend it for fans of the genre.

Stray is the perfect game to rest. Be in a trance and let yourself be guided by the path in front of you. The game does not ask its player to put himself in a stressful situation. This is not too much in a world where there are many sources of stress and conflict. The puzzles are relatively easy for young and old alike. Well, we agree that if the game asked us to embody a dog it would be even better. Who knows, maybe the idea is already germinating in the studio's head. For now, we'll just purr and bend our backs. And let's not forget the nap. I like naps.

After a very successful first book, we are more than happy to find our little mouse for a new adventure. Keeping the basics that made the first game a success, Moss: Book 2 takes us even further. We quickly see that Polyarc has made the most of PSVR and that it is undoubtedly one of the last good titles on the platform before its future iteration. I hope the studio will continu its great work during Sony's PSVR2 era, because they've proven once again that they're the best at it. It's an absolute must-have for any holder of the virtual reality headset. As long as you still have a PS4 controller if you play on PS5.

Kao the Kangaroo will not go down in history, I think you probably guessed it. We have to admit that it represents an interesting and still accessible challenge for people who are new to the genre. Your children could find it a lot of fun and it could prepare them to tackle little more fleshed out games. It's absolutely nothing mean-spirited towards Kao the Kangaroo but just like the other games in the series, it lacks something to elevate it to the level of the best games in the genre. Its lifespan of about 8 hours is more than reasonable and that's why it can be interesting for newer gamers.

I can't praise Elden Ring enough. However, beyond the praise, you should know that Elden Ring is probably the best game I've had the chance to play, nothing less. Yes I know, we will have to take a step back in order to weigh the words well in the coming months, even the next few years. What we can say with certainty is that Elden Ring and FromSoftware have just set the bar very high for games of the genre. We talk about Elden Ring as we have talked about Super Mario 64, Metal Gear Solid or Half-Life through the years. This is the apotheosis of “Souls-like” and who knows, maybe an “Elden-like” genre has just emerged. The game is just that good.
