The House of the Dead remake is characterized by a faithful embodiment of the elements of the original. However, it does not reproduce the sophisticated manipulation and immersion, which are characteristics of the gun shooting genre, so it stays in the remake as a rip-off of the original, not a remake beyond the original.

7 / 10.0 - Loot River

Puzzle element infused in action rogue-like genre stimulates the interest in many ways. The level design built on the core system such as manipulating Tetris-like scaffolds was also okay. However, the game gets dull pretty quick except for the puzzles because the only differentiator is just stepping stones.

7.5 / 10.0 - Lost Eidolons
Oct 14, 2022

A traditional SRPG which strategy and tactics are its key. It seems like the game deliberately chose the serious, heavy vibe over flashy visual. The game's graphic based on reality is surely a different, charming point among other anime-style SRPGs out there. However, that kind of seriousness can make someone to feel the game is too heavy, difficult to immerse in most characters or the story itself is too monotonous.
