66 / 100 - Kyn
Aug 19, 2015

Even with all of its issues, Kyn is a decent RPG featuring an incredible soundtrack. The developers are still working on ironing out the remaining bugs, but this is definitely still worth picking up if you're craving a new action-RPG during the remaining days of this summer lull.

After the last card is played and the loot has been counted, Guild of Dungeoneering delivers a satisfying dungeon crawling roguelike card battling experience. While the game comes down to luck a little more than I would have liked which was frustrating, this dungeon crawler with a twist has a lot of redeeming qualities going for it.

80 / 100 - Grey Goo

This game made me happy to see that a new RTS can still surprise and delight me to this degree, and fans of the genre and general gamers alike will no doubt enjoy this game too.

80 / 100 - Titan Souls
Apr 24, 2015

Titan Souls was a tough and a well-fought battle that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Even though it had me raging at times, the thrill of taking down the Titans one by one gave me an immense feeling of satisfaction. While it is a relatively short experience (I was able to finish the game in just over six hours), it was worth every minute.

80 / 100 - ScreamRide
Mar 4, 2015

I had a lot more fun playing ScreamRide than I thought I would have. For the asking price, you get a solid amount of fun, varied gameplay, and solid audio to top it off. The only thing that can drag this game down is the camera controls at times, and some issues with aiming in Demolition mode, but these issues could well be tweaked later on. So strap yourself in and hang on, because it's going to be a wild ride!

When it comes down to it, this is a must-play game for those who enjoy adventure games of this style – but it definitely sticks to the tried-and-true point n' click genre. It is very well produced and shows a lot of care behind it.

In the end, I enjoyed my time with Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock. Anyone who has history playing these types of games will feel right at home – just don't expect anything really new. The old adage "if it's not broke, don't fix it" applies here – other than the voice acting.

For those who are fans of the Resident Evil series like me, who have not played the original in a long time, Resident Evil HD Remaster is great fan-service, and for the price how could you say no? So what are you waiting for? Grab your gun, get your green herbs ready, and go forth into Raccoon City, where the nightmare all started!

When it comes down to it, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is a blast – no pun intended. Fans of the series will love it, and gamers with a competitive streak who are new to the series should take to it instantly. This is a definite buy for your Xbox One as it will bring back memories for veterans of the series while introducing the franchise to those who've never played it.

Some might get frustrated with the breakneck pace the game can reach; particularly without the ability to pause and take stock of the situation. However, fans of the genre who feel they can keep up with the escalating mayhem will find Defenders of Time to be a solid entry.

80 / 100 - Shadow Warrior
Oct 31, 2014

So in the end, does Shadow Warrior make a good addition to the Xbox One library? I think this is a worthy purchase – particularly for those who didn't play the PC version – but I just wish the loading issues weren't a factor, because they did take me out of the flow of the action from time to time.

In the end Drinkbox studios took an already great game, and made it that much better. So lace up your boots, pull on your mask, and dive head-first into the action! This is a must-buy that will be enjoyed by all. ARRIBA!

Ultimately, this remake does a great job respecting the original game, but bringing the visuals and interface to a modern age.

77 / 100 - Road Not Taken

So in the end, Road Not Taken is a very charming and entertaining puzzler, with a deeper mystery behind it yet to be solved. I will definitely be traveling this road more than once, and you should too!

75 / 100 - Blackguards
Feb 3, 2014

It was rather fun to play a turn-based tactical RPG in this style, but I wish it had just a bit more life to it and not feel so stiff. Don't get me wrong – it is still very enjoyable, I just wish it had a bit more to it.  If you're a fan of games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Tactics, and similar games, I would say that Blackguards is definitely worth checking out!

In the end, is World of Warplanes worth your time and possibly your hard-earned cash?  I think it is as it is fun and something different than the multitude of FPS's out in the market today, and certainly anyone who is an aircraft enthusiast should check it out.  Since the game is free to play – with a pay option for extra perks – I'd recommend giving it a shot. Strap yourself in and take to the skies, you won't regret it.

80 / 100 - Killer Instinct
Dec 1, 2013

Fans of the Killer Instinct franchise need not worry, this is a great game to launch with the Xbox One.  I wanted to give it a higher score but releasing the game with a limited roster and some minor technical issues held it back a bit.  I'm also not fully "on-board" with their pricing model, but they do have two good packages to choose from that unlocks all the characters.  Don't get me wrong; if you enjoy fighting games this is definitely something to check out.

In the end, Deadfall Adventures is a fun romp in a B-movie sort of way. I like to compare it to a poor-man's Indiana Jones movie that you might see late at night on cable. Much like the "Temple of Doom", Deadfall Adventures is enjoyable but in the end has a few too many issues. Do not get me wrong it is a good game, just don't go in expecting a high production value or something that will blow your socks off.

75 / 100 - Race The Sun
Aug 29, 2013

Race the Sun is a fun endless runner of sorts that I can see making its way to other platforms in the future.  It is looking for votes to get Greenlit on Steam, and I'd recommend promoting it. The price is slightly high at $10 right now, but it is DRM-free and available for PC, Mac, and Linux users.
