6 / 10.0 - Miitopia
Jun 5, 2021

Miitopia on Switch is a remaster of the 3DS original. Sadly, it still brings the same tedious gameplay with little (need to) interaction during fights. Main eyecatchers are the extensive use of Mii for every role in the game and focus on building relationships between them. The use of these relationships in fights has great potential but isn't able to shine.

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is brimming with content, both offline and multiplayer online. Even if you are only interested in one of the two, you'll find plenty to do. The port to Switch can be considered a success, as only the local co-op split screen seems to be missing. It's quite a feat to pack this much content into one package.

Bravely Default II returns to what gamers loved about the first installment while using the better hardware to upgrade the graphics. The return of the Brave/Default system, a wide variety of jobs, and the many interesting, outspoken characters are offset by quite a difficulty spike in story-related fights which too often require extensive grinding.

6.5 / 10.0 - Ride 4
Jan 29, 2021

This racing simulator isn't for the faint at heart. Without any real introduction or soft landing, you're expected to drive like a pro and be able to drive near-perfect laps. Without that, you're locked out of the main course, the career mode, and have to resort to riding single tracks. AI is hit-or-miss and races very aggressively. Definitely not a game for beginners or those looking for an arcade racer.

Fitness Boxing 2 is a decent fitness game that will get you to sweat, provided you can muster up the discipline. The game provides a good variety of exercises and incentives to come back each day. The best and worst part of Fitness Boxing is that it doesn't need any additional hardware but instead relies on joy-con movement, which isn't always very accurate. Fitness Boxing 2 is a good alternative to Ring Fit Adventure if you don't want any additional equipment

6.5 / 10.0 - Twin Mirror
Dec 25, 2020

A Dontnod game without signature episodes and supernatural powers, but with an intriguing murder-mystery and tensions between all involved as protagonist Sam returns to his hometown to visit the funeral of his best friend - and his partner, Sam's ex-girlfriend. Dontnod introduces some interesting new concepts like the mind palace, but they are not fleshed out enough to be memorable.

7.5 / 10.0 - Let's Sing 2021
Dec 3, 2020

The newest edition in the Let's Sing series brings 30 new songs to sing along to. The songs consist of several current stars and golden oldies. With the use of either a microphone or mobile phone, the setup is a breeze, and access to the songs and game modes is easy. All in all an accessible party game that could have benefitted from having access to the content of the previous editions.

5 / 10.0 - XIII
Nov 23, 2020

This XIII Remake was supposed to allow fans of the original to relive their memories in a way that was suited to modern hardware and gameplay norms. Sadly, this game failed to deliver due to a questionable choice of art direction, last-gen controls, and many, many flaws and bugs that hamper the game.

Bakugan: Champions of Vestoria is a more than decent brawler that brings some interesting new ideas and mechanics to the brawls. Having your Brawler run around the battlefield chasing energy pads is a clever way to activate the player during battles. While the Story Mode tells a decent story, it isn't challenging enough to force you to use every possibility and variation available.

8.5 / 10.0 - Wasteland 3
Oct 17, 2020

Wasteland 3 is an excellent RPG by keeping the spirit of the original, while also borrowing from Xcom. While the load times get in the way sometimes, there is no denying that you need to play this game if you love a great story with an edge.

The Journey to Batuu expansion for The Sims 4 is basically a holiday trip to Disney Park's Galaxy's Edge area. It boasts a good selection of clothing, building blocks, and accessories, and the Star Wars-themed Batuu area to visit. The expansion is quite limited. Not many buildings can be entered, and any action outside the Batuu area is provided 'choose your adventure style. Most importantly, it proves The Sims is not suitable for story-driven gameplay.

8 / 10.0 - PGA Tour 2K21
Sep 15, 2020

PGA Tour 2K21 borrows a lot from its Golf Club predecessors. By adding a helpful tutorial and many aids, HB Studios have made the game accessible to newcomers, while retaining higher difficulty levels for returning golf fans. PGA Tour 2K21 is the most all-round golf game currently available.

After a great start where the setting of the Ronan Twins and the tragedy at home is depicted, Episode two isn't able to live up to the expectations. gameplay consists mostly of doing some chores and even a scene at a police station that should have been thrilling comes down to doing more chores. If you hopedTell Me Why would pick up speed, you'll be disappointed. All in all, not a very good follow-up episode.

8.5 / 10.0 - Tell Me Why
Aug 28, 2020

This first episode of the new Dontnod trilogy story is a bit of a slow starter but sets a beautiful scene of little-town Alaska where twins Tyler and Alyson grew up. The game brings everything we expect from a Dontnod game: exploration, tough decisions, and puzzles combined with the supernatural and more than one complex and difficult relationship.

8 / 10.0 - Railway Empire
Aug 16, 2020

Railway Empire is a great game that will keep players entertained for hours on end thanks to the huge amount of content and the way it calms your mind. The AI has some huge problems, however, which can detract from the overall enjoyment.

A tactical Warhammer 40K game that is true to its board game origins, offering a deep and intriguing storyline with many possible tactical choices, and where the clock is omnipresent. The game offers a lot of atmospheres, only marred by its current buggy state. If these bugs can be squashed postrelease, the game is a treat for the fans of the tactical genre, although maybe a bit on the easy side.

8 / 10.0 - The Outer Worlds
Jun 16, 2020

The transition of The Outer Worlds to the Switch is a decent one. All the content and dark humor is still there. The game play pretty well in handheld mode despite the joycons aren't particularly well equipped to handle a First Person Shooter. The game suffers from popups and loadtimes, but nothing unbearable. Overall a decent package, especially for those who want to play on the go. If you plan to mostly play docked, you might want to check out one of the other platoforms.

8.5 / 10.0 - Desperados III
Jun 12, 2020

Desperados 3 brings a compelling Wild West story telling the origins of John Cooper and his gang. Each mission is brimming with life and atmosphere and offers a real challenge. With up to six characters, each with their own abilities, there are many different styles of play possible. The game is certainly challenging, but offers a lot of replayability and value for money.

7.5 / 10.0 - Minecraft Dungeons
Jun 6, 2020

The Minecraft atmosphere is good in it, although the game actually has nothing to do with Minecraft at all in terms of gameplay. You can't tear down the environment and build anything. This is just a hack-and-slash RPG in the Diablo sphere. That the difficulty level is not high, although of course it can be set higher yourself. Mojang has done everything in his effort to make the game as accessible and forgiving as possible for younger gamers as well with various health-restoring options and fun upgrades.
