From our younger days, the idea of there being parallel worlds or mythical creatures are highlighted amongst many tales. Witches brewing cauldrons and dragons flying high above the clouds could possibly exist, according to the stories you were told. One game that brings the idea of dragons to life is Angels with Scaly Wings. This visual novel takes you on an adventure as you travel to a different dimension through a portal. This is a world of dragons going about their day to day life, but your arrival looms trouble. As you find yourself in the deep end, now trying to solve a murder mystery, the story takes you on a whirlwind adventure. Meeting new people, solving crimes, and discovering new locations, all come together to tell a tale unique to Nintendo Switch.

The type of games that I have always found to be hit-and-miss is those that are described as point-and-click stories, also known as visual novels. However, when I saw my favourite developer Ratalaika Games, had been involved in creating Reminiscence in the Night, and it had been released on the Switch, I thought I would get off my high horse, broaden my outlook, and give this game a fresh overview. Check out how I got on during my playthrough and how this game compares on the switch to the other platforms Rapid Reviews has reviewed it on.

Ah, the 1980s. An era where computers slowly began impacting our lives. Familiar household names such as Apple and Microsoft slowly made their entrance, and mobile phones became a common item. This was the decade bringing an end to the Cold War, and the delightful game everyone loves, Pacman was released.

Space Invaders is a well-known top-down shooter game that is loved and admired by many. It started the journey many gamers find themselves on today, across galaxies far and wide, visiting skies of unknown worlds. When I viewed the trailer for Blink: Rogues, I was drawn back to that moment in my childhood, of discovering shooter games through Space Invaders, and wanted to give it a try. Intrigued by its own blueprints, I put myself forward to review the game. Here’s what Rapid Reviews thought, as we lift off into the skies of Blink: Rogues.

Barry the Bunny is a charming little 2D platformer game. It focuses on the life of a little rabbit saving the world, building one bridge at a time. What do a duck, gorilla and hog all have in common? Well, it turns out they are all capable of bank robbery. Snowfall is little and often in England. When I was younger, I remember many snow days filled with snowball fights and trips to the local countryside. We would build snowmen and have sledge rides. These days, with our friend global warming, we don’t get snow days as thick and heavy as they were a few years ago. However, there is one way to enjoy snow these days: from the comfort of your own home, surrounded by warmth!

Kiwis are adorable fluffy little birds native to New Zealand. Did you know they are also flightless birds? You would think being a flightless bird, they wouldn’t carry much talent, but apparently, they can also run teleposters. (Post offices to you Non-Newzealenders)! With this in mind, let’s find out how we got on taking the role of this cute and innocent curiosity.

In a world where life moves at a million miles an hour, everyone needs some downtime. Whether that be going for a leisurely jog around the block or staying in to enjoy some escapism through the latest Nintendo release. Friends of mine will know I have limited patience when it comes to puzzle games. Purely because the second I start playing, I lose every brain cell. It becomes impossible to remember how to complete games and even the simplest of challenges. Something about the style initiates a wall to come up in my brain. Because of this, I am very picky in choosing which puzzle/arcade types I play. One common feature in all puzzle games I have played, are those that seem to have been published by our friend Ratalaika Games.

When I imagine my ideal cosy scenario, I picture being under fluffy blankets and playing the latest indie game with a nice cup of tea. The game of choice always has to match the environment. I can hardly be cosy if I’m hunting down the latest cults in Far Cry. One rainy day and a blanket fort like no other, I decided to give Garden Story a go. Instantly drawn in by the adorable graphics and soft-hued colour palette, I knew this light-hearted game would fulfil my recreational needs.

We’ve all been there. A stressful day resolved with a few ASMR organisation videos, or have been lost in the realms of TikTok, watching someone restock their cupboards. I think I’ve watched so many videos like this, my “for you page” is now taken over by someone resupplying their entire ice draw for their 5 person freezer.

At the world’s most southern point, wrapped around the south pole, you will find Antarctica. Also known as the world’s fifth-largest continent. It may not be the biggest, but it is most certainly the coldest in the world. You wouldn’t think that a land mass being 98% of thick ice, would hold many tales that are worth telling. However, developer State of Play has taken this beautiful blank snowy canvas and created one of the greatest stories of 2022.

For many games, the majority of the fun comes in the form of mods (in-game content created by players). So when a mod for Elder Scrolls: Skyrim hit 3 million downloads, after its release in 2015, the developers took this as a sign. They freshly remade the mod to become its own standalone game, improving the NPC’s unique stories, and including mythology into the background of the story.
